Extremely Disappointed. When making reservation, we were strongly encouraged to try the 5 course tasting menu for $150 per person. We have enjoyed many fine dining restaurants around the world and were really looking forward to this experience. Almost everything served was extremely disappointing. We got the strong feeling that we were served a lot of leftover food. The only bright spot of the evening was the good service and wine list.

Neil. This guy is very unpleasant. He’s trying to take for a big boss. But he’s very small, doesn’t have any brains. Its hotel is small, the rooms lack comfort, very spartan, mini space. On the other hand the price ... Scandalously high. The sheet metal worker is not friendly, stingy and like his rooms, not very clean. the mentality of this type is abhorrent. In short, a hotel to flee. The mountains are splendid...

Classic charm, wonderful people, and the best nature has to offer. I can't wait for my next stay.

OMGosh! Who would have thought such amazing foods could be found in such a remote place as McCarthy?!? The flavors, ingredients and wine pairings complimented each other perfectly. The brazed short ribs melted in your mouth, Copper River red salmon left me wanting more...There aren't enough adjectives to describe how delicious this food was! A must go to place if you are in the area and even if you aren't!

Hi Fredy, You just need a Visa. For changing your life and immigrating to America, it may be more complicated. As for purchasing land, there is plenty of land for sale in the area.
Hi Doug - Thanks for being a fan of our Discovery TV show: Edge Of Alaska. We are working on plans to sell our various businesses. Surveying is complete, next step is replatting the main block of town. The new hotel, the gondola and MotherLode are all ideas we would love to continue to develop. acpMcCarthyLodge.com TV time is like 'dog years' in reverse. What takes years to develop in bush Alaska, on television, time is compressed into episodes to share as theater for a tv audience. It's hard to figure facts from an exaggeration done in a documentary style. Especially when our show had plenty of absolute truths & it's share of dramatic moments. Just ask a resident and they'll tell you there is no 100 room hotel for 130 miles in any direction. This will be changing, but it will take years to accomplish. Folks who've seen our show are often staying with us in McCarthy - and it's a blast! Hope you make it to McCarthy one day!
It could at any time but September ends the season.
I've spoken with him a few times and he was nothing like the show. He's not a bad guy in real life, I think he just makes a good villain with TV editing.
