This is a beautiful park. You can only get to it by boat and the beach isn’t very crowded. A lot of people hang out on their boats with the anchor dropped. They have a FWC station on the island and you are allowed on the beach as long as you’re not on the southern tip. No dogs are allowed on the island, as it is a bird sanctuary.

Recommended for the whole family take a boat out have a friend take you there lighthouse is there lighthouse's gorgeous dilapidated buildings of Florida's history is amazing The water is immaculate gorgeous

Had an awesome morning at Egmont Key. I’m anchored in my sailboat out in a stopover across the gulf. Walked the whole island and nerded out on the history and the wildlife. They’ve done a great job at preserving what they have and giving a glimpse of what it was like 100+yrs ago. As a Florida native I really appreciate what’s happening here. Special shout out to park ranger Toledo. We kept seeing each other and he kindly shared his local knowledge and passed tidbits of info to me. Thanks man! I would’ve had a great time but you definitely pushed it over the top!

Only been there couple of times it's hit or miss with good shells. Always find regular small shells if you want the good ones get there early or when the tides out
I would not recommend kayaking to the island unless you are experienced, as the channel has a high amount of traffic. Many fishing vessels pass through at a high rate of speed and visibility can be poor.
Yes Hubbard's Marina does offer ferry service. Look them up here on Google.

If you want to take the ferry you catch it at the Fort DeSoto Bay Pier
No bathrooms on island unless you go in woods or water 👍
It's in Fort De Soto there's a little stand in the parking lot that sales tickets. It's the parking lot before the Fort
