Everyone was so wonderful and so concerned that the pet you are choosing is going to a great forever home. There is a detailed application process, a home visit, and then a visit to Canine Castaways in Arcadia. The dogs we saw were all healthy and well cared for....and ADORABLE!! We are confident that we found our baby boy to complete our family.

I agree with some of the other people... This place will not contact you after sending in a adoption form. Seems to me money talks with not only Canine Castaways but any other "rescue " on pet finder. Apparently it's not about finding good homes for pups anymore, it's a Vanity thing to see who will pay the most and my biggest problem is all these places boot you off the list if you don't give your pup unnecessary drugs every month for heart worm. I get my pup tested for it but I don't believe in giving meds to my dog that will cause adverse reactions... I would think its probably easier to adopt a child than a pup now. Sadly this is probably true.

Usually they respond back fairly quickly. It depends on the animal and how many responses they got back to go through them. Also, check your spam folder to see if a response was already sent out.
We do not have hours. The first step is to submit an application and after approval we set up meetings.
We do not adopt out of state at this time.
