I made an appointment with them once my insurance changed because they had an appointment available sooner than anyone else. I wish I had waited. I don't remember who I saw, but I can say that prior to this change I was on the same medication for several months, almost a year. I went in and let them know that the medication I was on hasn't been working lately, and although it's my first appointment I need a med adjustment. I've been taking medication for 13 years, I know when I need an adjustment. They refused and said they need to get to know a patient before making an adjustment. Fine. I know that some practices are like that. Then I said ok, but I'm not taking anything for my ADHD and I need something because I can't concentrate or focus. Mind you, I said "can I get something for my ADHD." Their immediate reaction was "we don't prescribe Adderall." I didn't ask for Adderall. I don't want Adderall if I can help it anyways. But they immediately acted as though I was asking specifically for it and didn't mention any other viable options. Not cool. I found it to be very unprofessional and accusatory for no reason. However at my next appointment the psychiatrist was friendly and treated me much better. Jury's still out for now.

This place has the most untrained employees. I needed a neuropsychologist test and they took my child’s information gave me their fax number nd made me wait for two weeks while they get the referral. I talked to 5 different people and all of them m gave me diferente answer and no one could tell me why the referral was taking so long to review it. After two weeks one of their employees told me that they didn’t accept my child insurance! They basically wasted my time to find another place that could see my child, this is unbelievable to me.

I noticed mixed reviews. My husband has been coming for 5 years. they have prevented some pretty chaotic episodes and kept the ones that just couldn't be halted to a lower level. Yes they have canceled on us and yes there are interns coming in and out....but they are cutting edge most recent knowledge hungry interns we've seen. The mental health care does need some help apparently from how busy they are but i have to say before this our choice was a 9-5 old school psychiatrist who just didn't know what to do with that chaotic stuff. We will stick with cutting edge interns and the sometime inconvenience thank you very much.

I have been going here for the past two years, ever since my original psychiatrist passed away. Since it is the only practice within a 100 mile radius that accepts my insurance, I have continued to go until my insurance lapses in a month. I will be as straightforward as possible with my review. My first resident was a dream doctor. He listened, wasn't judgmental, and I felt comfortable being seen by him because he was a respectable human being. Unfortunately he graduated and moved on to working within the field. After he left, although he scheduled my next visit, it wasn't input into the system, so I showed up for my quarterly visit to be told that I have to reschedule (1), which resulted in a visit months later. My second doctor was a nightmare. She was cold and uninterested, lacking any sort of bedside manner. After she scheduled two appointments for different times(2 &3) than what was written on the appointment card resulting in two more missed appointment times, I asked for a new doctor. Tonight was literally my breaking point. Finally I had a scheduled visit at a time that worked with my schedule (I live 40 miles away). Immediately she has me fill out a questionnaire after I told her that I'd like to get put back on a medication I was prescribed for years and decided to stop while I was pregnant with my daughter. Then, after discussing my life, childhood and all the other unnecessary drama that comes with having a woman doctor, she begins telling me that she wants me to stop my current medication (which I have been taking for the past 3 years with no issues) and try multiple other types to see if I can switch to another. I'm not sure why on a first visit, this student has decided to take it upon herself to completely erase and rewrite what has been working well for years. Needless to say, I left without a prescription and have to return after a few days so that she can start me on a whole new medication.

If you enter the USF campus by the Fowler Ave entrance (I believe it's Marigold St), it is the building immediately to your left.
