You would think that an organization of this type would employ caring empathetic individuals. Sadly, it does not. The parent support group couldn’t be less supportive and the leader is nothing short of rude. The monthly Zoom meetings for the kids are stale, dry and robotic, the leader is cold and uncaring. Trying to get help or services is a farce, that is not their goal. I believe the organization exists simply to get funded. Lots of talk of fund raising and how wonderful they are but nothing to back it up…not much in the way of support for the family or the autistic person. The reviews speak for themselves. If the organization was worth anything at all, they would be flourishing with clients. Shameful shameful shameful.

Same experience as others..I have called several times over the years thinking maybe they have changed..But they are always the same. What exactly is it you do if you never ever have any resources for our kids on the autism spectrum. Not a good thing that us parents who already have more than too much on our plates than to get a "I'm sorry we don't do that". Parents you supposed to help with referrals and resources?

All they have done for Us: sent multiple emails with multiple non working links. The fact is there is no help, no support in Tampa for Autistic kids entering adulthood. Please reply if I’m wrong. Thanks.

Nope, you're on your own. They did take the time to make an autism backpack at the zoo with fidget toys though.

Can ppl who been there for themselves or children be more specific, stars don't say much

I left an accurate review with more words and it was removed. Tried again today. Card won't help with schooling for kids (even under 18) if they're not in High School -their funding isn't set up for college help regardless of age. Just found that out last visit. Also, they are a referral service. Everything's on you. You'll get a slightly better insight with them than what you get from Tampa Bay Cares 211 in that they'll tell you certain words or phrases to use when asking for help if you've already hit that brick wall of unhelpfulness from the organizations you went to, and keep complaining. So far for us it's been an unhelpful and unpleasant experience (enough to give USF a bad name), but just keep fighting and hope it bears fruit.
