Great service, and fantastic support even if you're in the wrong place. Jason, Linda, and Dolores can always either solve your problem or get you to the person who can. All the staff are friendly and hilarious.

My experience with this Department was the best, especially working with Jason!!! He took the time to ask many questions AND listen, before deciding my request couldn't be done. No one listens anymore!! Thanks to Jason our project was a GO!!!! Good people work here.

Questions & Answers

I would like to set a trailer behind the house on the property i own. I want to live in that trailer. Is it legal?

Probably not, it may depend on a variety of factors (zoning of your property, lot size, proximity of property line to trailer and lot coverage - to name a few) . However, start with your Planning Department (661) 326-3733 and pose the question to them. Once projects get passed Planning Department, then through the building departments many - if not all, things are possible to construct/install/build. I hope this helps.

Call City building. They will have record of an inspection and if it was or was not finaled by an inspector. You just need an address. Make sure you are in City limits.

I would suggest contacting the State of California Contractors License Board for help; assuming a licensed contractor is responsible. Here is the link to file a complaint: http://www.cslb.ca.gov/Consumers/Filing_a_Complaint/
