Apparently it's closed now (6/6/22). I pulled in bc I live close, to look for my cell phone. Nice local was working on his car called my phone. When I used to stay here, I really liked it, and would bring my German Shepard. I'm a huge germa phobe- so the hardwood floors and clean rooms with freshly bleached towels, were the reason I returned. I always brought my own pillow/blankets and wiped down the floor-super filthy & black, but what did I expect for the low price? Similar clean motel 6 (I've stayed at all in area) was Carls bad Beach Motel 6-stay there. Avoid Escondido and definetly the Oceanside motel 6's at all costs. Druggies/criminals will not hesitate approaching your vehicle inappropriately. Night check in desk girls were always super sweet. You don't have to sneak your dog in, and they run next to you w a towel over them (LOL I used to do this) to avoid cameras. Just paid a refundable $50 deposit (this is for all motel 6s-but beware, Carlsbad Village INN-not technically a motel 6 anymore, takes this deposit at $20 per 15 min you check out late, and the desk girls were sweating the livid customers-still lost deposit-even those without pets). IT had a pool, and dog potty area w a hose, orange trees, and potty bags. Moot point now, bc the sign said the city was having a meeting to approve it being reused as a low income or homeless facility (I could have misinterpreted the sign so don't quote me on that), but won't be another hotel, which is a shame and weird-they were always almost full.

Over the years all family members have stayed at the Carpinteria motel which is great. This Vista location is absolutely horrible. It is dirty, the rooms were not clean etc etc. Lots of activity outside and very noisy. There appeared to be drug deals going on outside and people yelling and screaming. It was awful. My daughter stayed on the 24 and 25 and her bathtub had dirt and hair in it. There was a cockroach in her room. She never got cleaning service after calling. Someone contacted her and gave excuses. Worst place to stay ever. I will also copy and paste this review onto Google reviews so everyone can stay far away from this location.

Experience ruined when they kept our $50 deposit over a few dirty towels worth $5 at best. These towels will clean just fine but they strong armed us and kept 50 dollars. Maybe the floor towel would have gotten less dirty if you did a better job cleaning the floors!

Great inexpensive motel. The rooms are much larger then most motel 6 rooms. Everything is clean. The staff is friendly and professional. For the price this is a great safe place to stay. Victor at the front desk is friendly and helpful. I booked the wrong room on hotels.com. Victor took the time in fixing this for me. Excellent customer service!
