The park was such a nice one for hiking until a construction project prevents hikers from fully utilizing it. Now we are still waiting for the full trail to be opened. A sign says the trail would be open in the spring of 2022. Now summer is almost here and the trail is still blocked. What a pity! Hikers may have to wait for another year or two!

This has many memories for me... it use to be the run we took for weight training at RBVH the very 1st year the school existed, lol. It has been greatly improved since those days... 1988. The pond is beautiful, great parking area. Lots of people with kids and dogs and bikes. A very nice place for anyone young or old! It backs up to the Dawson Los Monos Canyon Reserve and trails can be accessed from the back of the park.

Yes the duck pond is adjacent to the parking lot for easy access.
You can walk a loop close to 3 miles including the bridges.
Right not at BV but someone told me there was another dog park close by.
You can walk anywhere around that Park you'll be fine.

Doubt it; there are ducks&waterbirds that live here..
The Firestone entrance is for bicycles and hikers. From Melrose, Drive West on Shadowridge then left at the first light. You can almost always find a spot in the lot. There are two other parking lots on the North side of Shadowridge, but those are mainly used for the ballpark. South Buena Vista park has its own parking lot, but the parks don't connect.
