Cabrillo beach is best described as a celestial place. Because it is a bay waves are smoother. And there are walking on rocks and the aquarium on the far right side by the pit area. Because of covid they have removed the pits. But people still manage to gather thier rocks and wood to enjoy the experience. The playground and the drive that takes all the way to the edge of the water is breathtaking. Best time of the year to experience this beach is the forth of july. Parking is 10. Not bad you are saving the walk and closer to the water. Sunsets and Surises are peaceful not to many people know about this hidden gem in San Pedro. If you want to get away this is the place.

Awesome view of the Pacific ocean. Great way to learn how our ocean life is when walking on the tidepool.

My husband grew up in the area & brought me here to see the ocean before heading to airport to fly home. I LOVE dolphins & there just happened to be a school of them as we arrived swimming off in distance. I was so excited!! The beach was relatively clean & bathrooms were as well especially for a public restroom on a beach. Found some great shells & met a couple nice people. We'll go again when we visit.

Questions & Answers

Can you leave your boat there overnight to launch the next morning? Is it safe?

YES! The parking area does close it's gates sometime around 10pm and is patrolled. BUT, you can PAY to leave your vehicle there as long as it's hooked up to your boat trailer! You can pay for days or even weeks at one time. So, you can pay to park your rig for a week, launch your boat and sail to Catalina while leaving your truck and trailer in the parking lot. I have even arrived at the ramp after dark and been allowed to pay to park there overnight with my bait still on the trailer so I could launch early in the morning. Very nice ramp. Good people.

Can I pay in advance to leave my truck and trailer there for multiple nights?

I have left my trailer and truck there for 2 nights while it on my boat. Their payment system sem to allow me to pay for up to 14 days out more. Is important that when you are paying, after adding each day, that you allow time for the machine to up date, and verify the number of days paid for thus far. If you enter days to rapidly, the machine can get confused and mrs up the number of days you paid for.
