We've lived in many stated and dealt with our fare share of DMVs and this was by far the cleanest and had the friendliest employees!
Christa Rosenbaum
With the wait time showing on line, going without an appointment is easy. The employees are very nice. Update: If you are there for an in car driving test, don't schedule your appointment anytime near their lunch. We waited nearly 2 hours past our scheduled time. There was a back up of cars waiting to test. Before our turn, they went to lunch and no one told us.

I did my behind the wheel driving test here yesterday. The process was incredibly smooth and simple. Staff was kind and helpful and it was overall a good experience. My instructor was reasonable and I passed.

Today October 15th 2020 was a good day at the Ventura DMV there was no line whatsoever super friendly customer service I was gone and out of there in less than 30 minutes

Yes. The employee's generally don't check this site. Most answers are by Google Users.
You have to present in person at least the first time you apply for the Real ID. I had to come in person with my birth certificate, social security card and two proofs of residency. Perhaps renewals of the Real ID will be different, but renewing my license this first time with the Real ID designation required an in person visit. https://realid.dmv.ca.gov/how-do-i-get-a-real-id/
Want to make appointment for Real ID
Can you tell me?
Yes
Yes
You have to go to the DMV, fill out the application, then wait there until you are helped by DMV employee. They said the application is now online.
I wouldn't recommend that, but no.. Make it easy on yourself.
If your license have been revoked for medical reasons you will need a medical release to drive again by your Physician and may have to take test again to make changes to the license.
I believe that's an in branch procedure to renew your learning permit.
I would think so. You may also get it on their website
https://realid.dmv.ca.gov/when-do-i-need-real-id/
Get a triple aaa membership its alot easier
Some DMV employees do check or get alerts from Google when someone has a question. Appointments can be made online on DMV website or over the phone (phone number is on the website)
Unfortunately, you need to go into the office. Only you can renew or replace your license or ID. There's a new check in system so I recommend you make an appointment or expect to wait about an hour or two.
Cost can be anything, bring your birth certificate, SSN, and, or passport and proof of address.
Yes you can, i did it this past Monday. I made 2 appts, both at 8am for that and new CDL. I was finished with all of it by 8:27.
Yes, I just went for my behind the wheel driving test
You can call the 800# and make an appointment. You can also walk in and do it. But make sure You have His original birth certificate. They turned away a family when I was there because they only had a copy.
Depending on what you want. Check their website. You have to go in to renew registration if you don't have a code associated with snail mail about renewing your reg (sent before you must renew)
Jorge is correct. Appointments are not required. They break you off into two lines outside the entrance. One is appointments and the other is non-appointments. Try and arrive prior to 3pm for anything, but the earlier the better with the DMV. They line people up outside so distance those indoors.
They also aren't doing appts. You arrive and stand in the long line that wraps around the building to get checked in (temp and number assignment), they take your number then text you when to get in the short line. In February I went once and was in and out in 25 minutes and then another time took me 3 hours for business that only took 5 minutes- pretty brutal. Don't go earlier in the week and try to time it first thing or later before they close. However, if you wait too close to 5, sometimes even past 3:45 p.m. they will turn you away. That also happened to me in January.
You can go online and apply or go down right now They were waiving the written to renew due to cov19 just had to take the eye test awesome
You can't make an appointment at this time. Your only option is to get there early and wait in line.
I don't believe so... you have physically show them at 2 other forms of ID to verify that you are you
Call and find out, they will tell you. I say that respectfully. Monica is correct about her strategy, just remember that they open an hour later on Wednesday.. Best wishes!
Walk ins
And get there early so you don't have wait in a long line
Not currently
Yes you can make appointment but won't be till next yr . Just walk in an wait 2 hrs minimum and it depends on the day n time you go
No and it's a daily thing what they want to handle and how they are letting people in if you want to go plan on going really there will be a line outside you will wait and for appointments you need to go the website to do all of things there are more on line details
U don't have to have an appointment but it helps Did mine today with no appointment Took about 45 minutes. Line moves pretty fast.
Yes, by appointments.
Just show up very early. They are more willing to help. I mean people are showing up at 6 am for 8 open
Yes, you do the application online, prepare and upload documents like Social Security card number and the birth certificate or other IDs as well as residents approval then you got a confirmation number praying to the DMV you will get learner's license permit
The Ventura Branch closes earlier than before you must be in the door before 4pm i believe if not the security is at the door at all times he can usually help out by providing some of the forms if you are there for that . Many things can be done on line like vehicle release of liability and it can help many calculate fees for new transfers or registration renewals .
Currently no appointment available. You can try the website dmv.ca.gov under online services .. appointments will allow to select any of 170 offices
Dowload for reg 156 for replacement tags drop off express box and get them mailed or wait in line to get in office
I was there yesterday, they aren't taking new appointments, only the ones made before the virus that were postponed, however you can stand in a very long line and wait. My husband and I chose to drive to Santa Paula. There were only 4 people in line that didnt have appt. My husband was in and out in 30 min. It would have been faster, if we had filled out the application on the website before going. You will need the conformation number when you get there. Good luck. People in Ventura were rude.
It could also be done on line as long as you havent done a recent change of address
He can practice with anyone who has a driver's license in any vehicle, along as the vehicle has insurance. Unless he'll be driving alone, than he needs to be under your insurance..
Yes you can, and if you're disabled like me, you get to use the red carpet appointment line too. I walk with a cane so standing doesn't do good for me. But even if you aren't and don't have an appointment, you can. If you can, do it during the week about 9AM. I had to get my registration changed from out of state, so mine was a little more complicated than most, but it still went relatively quick. The people at the initial desk, should be making sure that you have all the documents you need.

I'd recommend making an appointment. The wait can be ridiculous around lunch time.

If the person is having problems doing every day driving tasks, or they're reported to the dmv about their driving.....
No
Yes, you can renew your vehicle registration and sticker at the kiosks!
Schedule or walk into the DMV, tell them you're wanting to get a Ca I.D. and they'll take you through from there. After you're done, they should get it processed to send the ID to you in the mail. Hope this helps.
I believe so.
Sorry you can't do that at the kiosks at this time. Please see list of available transactions on kiosk here: cadmvnow.com
