So helpful, awesome people, they really helped me thru these tough times!!!

I would rather go hungry or panhandle than come here again. They gave me moldy bread and everything was expired. The milk wasn't sealed and had a bad smell. The staff yell at you for no reason like they are prison guards and take their frustration out on people. The department of health needs to investigate this place.

Volunteered here and love the environment! Great organization! Keep up the good work!

Came today, April 14th. Had at least 8 items that were expired and a couple more expiring tomorrow. Gelsons provided an expired very dry chicken salad and a baby tomato salad that resides in my trash can. Shredded lettuce from Good and Gather must have been left ungathered and joined the trash. Cherry Danish, blueberry muffins, and lasagna all outdated from Costco, though their artisan rolls still were soft. The point is companies are giving away expired food, and stuff nobody would buy. But they don't care because now these same companies can claim tax writeoffs and still save space in their trash cans. Good 'old los Angeles knows how to take care of business and leave the little guy with leftovers. P.S. their were good items too, if you don't mind picking through them.

They have more than one location I think and in order to be eligible for ther services you should be close to their locations any one can go to their location on vanowan and hayvenhurst.
Nearly everything is closed on Memorial Day and including SOVA
Basically a social security card (if you have one), rent receipt and a bill. Whatever you have, bring it in.
Yes speak to the Manager Ms Sandra..my information is, as long as the person is not into the "constituents program", you could volunteer and go from there. I mean it's a non profit program.
No. Christmas distribution. Handling about a 100 families a day right now for a week's worth of groceries each month
Also it helps if you have proof of Medi-cal or DPSS status. If not they will help you apply.
You just provide proof of living within a certain range of zip codes to be provided assistance.
Yes.
On site, the staff will ask if you arrived by your own vehicle to carry your goods (car, bike, etc.). But they don't offer transportation. Only the #165 bus stop across from security & parking lot on Vanowen street. Depending who you ask, the volunteers will help you push their cart/ carry bags to the spot fron where you're leaving.
They are primarily a food bank but they have lists of other agencies that can help as well as a board with several local job listings as well that might be of some use.
I don't know. Try calling them.
