It was a nice walk down and decent view of Alcatraz. Was foggy so couldn't see the bridge very well. A bunch of it is fenced off because it's crumbling and they have a save the pier project. Lots of bikes and people.

Great place to hang out esp with the sun out because there's a beach where you'll see some hardy locals swim in calm cold bay waters. Easily accessible from here are Ghirardelli Square, cable cars, Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. Treat yourself to an Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista.

The views are lovely from here. The pier itself is in terrible shape. Truly awful shape. Half of the pier was falling apart when we were walking on it. It had to be walled off because it was literally falling apart. The entire place smelled like piss too. On those two things nearly ruined being on the pier itself. The views were worth the trip though. I just wish they would clean the place up.

No, as far as I could see. As a matter of fact, a couple of spots smell like urine, so k assume the nearest restroom must be kind of far.
