I had a wonderful experience at this Humane Society. I adopted Brutus (renamed Declan). The staff was kind and welcoming. I ended up getting a dog that was the perfect match for me. I would suggest anyone to rescue from this Humane Society. They are very supportive and walk you through the process. Declan is my first dog and I felt very supported through the process.

Adopted my kitten here about 2 weeks ago! They were very helpful and professional, plus I truly appreciated meeting the kitten before making a decision. Update: I went back for a second kitten and the experience was as great as the first time. If I ever think of adopting another pet, this will definitely be my go-to place! Pictured: Ash, previously “Cupid” and Killua, previously “Lawrence”❤️

They helped us find the perfect cat for us. We wanted a kid-loving cat who enjoyed lots of attention. We got exactly that! She is such a sweetheart and has fit in with our family beautifully. This is her snuggling with my daughter at bedtime.

The Oregon Humane Society is an extraordinary animal shelter. I had the privilege of working there for one year prior to my retirement from working in the high tech industry for 33 years. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. The commitment and leadership of the management team and their entire staff is outstanding. Also, I have adopted 3 dogs from the OHS over the years and will be forever to them. My current dog from OHS, a beautiful beagle, is my constant companion and makes me feel so blessed every day. I am forever grateful to the extraordinary team at the Oregon Humane Society. I encourage everyone to support this organization for the wonderful work they do on behalf of so many deserving animals.

OHS has a program. There's a link on the website. Also OFOSA does and most county animal shelters.
Yes. If you go to the website, click on adoption specials and then you scroll down and it will give you a list of cats and any other cat thats not on that list that's 6 and older are free on Tuesdays too
Wait until your an adult. And then do what you want.
Angela Laws I have the same issue with my dog..I was trying to claim him back because he was missing and I found him on this site. When i asked about him to try to get him back they informed me that he has already been adopted. So now I just want to no how he is doing and want to really no what kind of environment he's in and inform the new owners what kind of dog he is and what his history is...wish they can help me with all this but all I got was a blunt answer that he is in a good home...I'm not satisfied with that answer
Best thing is to always call them first. They may need to bring the animal in a different door or quarantine if you do not know the shot history.
I'm not sure when it is considered animal cruelty but the Oregon Humane Society has an investigation unit. You can call and consult with the as a start. The number is on the website, oregonhumane.org
Go take a look . Any one you save is a new blessed life .
You should call the admissions department first. 503.285.7722 x211
OHS has the most reasonable prices for euthanasia in Portland. I took my ill and elderly pets there for only $5, and was returned the remains for home funeral.
