Beautiful venue with ample shade and countless little walkways over the creek. Went there for the Himalayan Fair today and it was the perfect setting for performances, vendors and picnicking. One drawback, finding parking can be a pain and you may have to walk for a spell albeit through beautiful neighborhoods.

Wonderful park to picnic at. Saw a man walking his tortoise here last weekend.

A wonderful little park with lots of big redwoods, fun bridges, and a bubbling creek. Right next by a community center with a playground for younger kidskids, and an art center in the eastern part of the park (east of Walnut). Big open green space to the north, with a tiny little corner in the northeast where people make and leave behind for others little projects with branches and twigs and rocks.

Decent little park with a moderately sized open field and a nice little creek below. Gets a little buggy down there, and a little busy everywhere else. The park is fine, and there’s nice sun on most days, but the real problem is the Berkeley parents and their kids. The screaming never stops! From the parents, and the kids! Good googly moogly it’s relentless! I couldn’t enjoy the day out here because every single moment was bombarded by the whines and yelps of entitled techy spawn! Continue at your own risk...

Questions & Answers

I work at the Wright Institute in Berkeley and we are looking for an area for a picnic for our students. Do you have an area with tables? Are reservations required, and can someone get to your park on public transportation?

There are picnic tables in an area along the creek. You must make a reservation for group use by calling the city parks dept. There is an AC transit stop at Henry and berryman which is very short 1 block walk to the park.

What is the very large tree with several trunks, stabilised by wire stays. Leaves very small segmented

Great question... Maybe take a picture and then ask a tree specialist?
