The farmer's market has lots of fresh kale, carrots, olives, mushrooms, apples, avocados, oranges, popcorn, olive oil, and yes ice cream. All items are organic and fresh. Obviously, I didn't list everything that is at the market downtown, because there is so much more. Just come and spend at least an hour, and test some of the items for yourself. Great stroll for an afternoon, and worth a visit! Cheers.

Good stuff! And in Berkeley unlike Contra Costa county, which sucks!, Because Berkeley let you use your food stamps at the Farmers market in addition you get double the amount! You can't even use it in El cerrito or anywhere in Contra Costa county even though supposedly you're supposed to be able to

The selection was moderate and prices were high for most farmer's markets. The problem is there's a population of homeless people who live in the park in tents and one of them approached us when our son was having a tantrum and she wouldn't leave us alone, shouting profanities. Be careful if you cross the park to get to the other side of the farmer's market.

I’ve been coming here for years and years, and the produce is just top-notch. It’s wonderful to follow along and cook food with what’s in season. It’s a larger market during the summer (two blocks) but it never feels overwhelming.

I'm not sure if they time out but farmer's market money is still a thing. Go to the table at the market and ask. Couldn't hurt.
Yes.
Yes! You can use the EBT/SNAP card at the ecology center stand in exchange for coins. They also do market match up to $10, meaning if you charge $10, you get $10 worth of free coins that can be used for fruit and veggies.
Mask and Respectable Distance
there's plenty of parking on the streets, which is metered, or in the surrounding neighborhood, some of which is metered, other is free but limited.
