I just finished the boot camp. It was one of the most difficult but one of the most rewarding things i have done in my life. You are being instructed by some of the best in the industry. The way they motivated and helped me apply technique to the task really pushed me to dig deep and overcome. This is not for everybody, if you really do not have passion or desire to better yourself or build a future career, i would not waste the schools time or your own. Now if you want to better your life and are up for change with a brighter future in mind. Then i say go for it prepare to work!!

One of the most amazing experience I had, It help me get more knowledge on construction. The Boot Camp gave me a lot of resistance specially when we pour concrete for long hours on the company I work for now. Great training ! ( Or stay in school kids )

Boot camp is unreasonable.. under osha standards a person should not be carrying 94lb sand bags, 2 12 foot 45lb wooden planks, and two cinder blocks 37lb each back and forth fifty feet for 8 hours a day. Small fifteen-thirty second water breaks. And everything timed. I understand some people can do it and are highly physically capable. I had a sponsorship into a good job that wouldn’t require anywhere near this amount of work. It was extremely exhausting. Everyone was struggling but about half of the group couldn’t even finish. I am disappointed that this is what it takes to get into the union because most jobs will be using other ways to transport the necessary materials. I know how to work hard. And I was more than capable to perform my job duties. I’m not one to give up easily. But there’s no way I could do all that the laborers school was asking for three days nearly non-stop. Also if you do tap out or fail then you must wait 6 months to try again.. I think that there is something wrong with the boot camp and somewhat discriminates but I guess if that’s what it takes to pass then it is what it is. I just don’t feel like it was justifiable. I had to quit due to heat exhaustion symptoms. I was given a 5 min heat break but that was still not enough. And you only get one heat break for the whole week which also seems wrong. Especially because they just showed a video on heat exhaustion in their class about how you should take breaks which will help you perform better. It truly was brutal. My arms are bruised and my shoulders are sore. It got to the point where I had to use some back muscle and so now I have some lower back muscle pain. I guess I wasn’t strong enough. I gave it all I could and it wasn’t enough. I consider myself above average in work ethic. I wasn’t the first to tap out and I am sure I wasn’t the last. If it was for one day then maybe that would make more sense.. but even so, most jobs won’t even let you lift more than fifty pounds at a time. I was able to complete 6 rounds of the three courses back to back. And to be honest, anyone who does complete it I do give respect and props to them. The union has good benefits though but that’s a whole different thing. If you can make it then you can possibly retire in 25 years. Power through it. A lot of it is in your mindset. Do everything you can to not think about stopping or quitting. I got to the point where I was getting dizzy and I just couldn’t continue. Even if I did continue my arms or fingers were going to give out soon anyways. Good luck to those who attempt it. It’s no joke. Stay in school kids.

Lady who answers the phone is extremely ,extremely rude and unprofessional. I missed my check in as I know it is my fault due to some unexpected family emergencies I wasn't able to call on the month I was told. I was ok with that ... what I don't get is why the lady on the phone was giving me attitude for nor checking in whole time I can hear her snobbyness through her answers she was given me. I asked her to send me another application so I can apply and she tells me " well are you going to apply or not because I'm not going to send you anything of your not going to apply" her words exactly!!. If she doesn't like her job and if it's too much of a hassle taking calls maybe she should look for a different job.. current employees that work for that union and been through that school all the same thing about her. Rude and disrespectful. Don't waste your time here they don't care about you or what you have to say. Best bet is apply at a heavy equipment training school . Don't apply here, don't waste your time

Join yhe Union closest to where you live. If you get sponsored it'll be through the Union.
Been waiting for almost 2 years honestly dont even know how much longer.
used boots not new. will hurt your feet
Yes, you have to go through the training program wich is about 18 months.
Put, it this way, if you can pass "Boot Camp," you can be a, "Laoborer," on any Construction Job.The Sand Bags, actually weigh, 100lbs, now & a little heavier, if wet!!! 🤣
Keep holding on they will hit u up. Better yet you can hit me up on Instagram at @resdaddy and i can have your application pulled, but you have to pass boot camp. Its hard but if you really want it you will pass and become a part of the brotherhood
If you enter as sponsored, at the end of the bootcamp you go directly to work if not, you sign up on the outoffwork list, so that they call you there several great jobs at the moment, the initial of 1 period is at about $ 18.60 I think and then in 6 period It's like $ 30 something after you finish school, when you journeyout you make more brother 👍🏼
Not really i did mine on oct 2016.however dpnt underestimate it nor yourself.you can do it if you put your mind into it.good luck and get it done and get payed.
You will get a letter
6 mos to 1 yr and yes u do get drug tested as soon as your accepted
The boot camp is just part of your training for joining the Union, it has nothing to do with the jobs you will be working at. If you're new to Construction the boot camp will let you know what to expect at a job site and if you're a veteran in Construction boot camp will be a breeze. But it not a guarantee that you won't be laid of from time to time.
580 last time i heard . worth the investment .
I believe the wait is 6 months. Give them a call
Take a picture of your work process sheets after you filled them out then you email them to work process call to make sure they received them it should be for the month of June
Yeah no pay for bootcamp
Just call.... you have to continuously check in with them so they know you're serious and dont drop you off of the list
Yes.

The sub committee decides if you get a raise and you need 400 woork hours per period

Yes you are sent somewhere
3 day agility bootcamp. The other two days are interviews and exams. So five days total. Exercise your upper body strength and endurance. Respectfully, Isreal PS: You could get paid if you can lay out concrete like Sergio Gomez. But Sergio will laugh at you if you assumed you did. Lol
HEART!
How do you get sponsored Daniel? Do you just get permission from a construction company to work for them?
If your sponsored
Yes they do .. and you will also get random drug test after that.
