If you do pass boot camp do they lay you off often? Also I don’t know how to use a tape measure... will that disqualify me?

The boot camp is just part of your training for joining the Union, it has nothing to do with the jobs you will be working at. If you're new to Construction the boot camp will let you know what to expect at a job site and if you're a veteran in Construction boot camp will be a breeze. But it not a guarantee that you won't be laid of from time to time.

I've been working almost two years straight same company starting the week after bootcamp. It all depends on if you're a worker or not. You won't use the tape measure in boot camp but you should learn it will be needed on the job
