A quiet spot for fishing and enjoying the night sky for night fishermen and boaters. During my fishing trip last night, the weather was a little bit windy. Caught a few 20 - 32 plus inches blue catfish. Caught and release a few baby stripe bass/ rockfish and 1/2 a dozen of small croakers 6 inches. An American eel 12 plus inches long. A friendly police officer would come to check on our safety and chitchat for awhile. We've been observing the the boat ramphere, we saw the fishery warden checked and inspectedmost boats during launching or landing. If you are a boater who have never been here before, make sure that you have licenses and boat permits/ safety gears/items ready. Fresh water fishing license is required in this area. A bait shop is a few miles away. Pls note, no lights on the fishing pier, so having flashlight is a must. - 1 star = small pier, occupancy max fishermen 6-8 persons.

Nice location to do Saltwater Fishing if you don't have a Boat. No fishing license required to fish from the East Pier, the Town of West Point purchased a fishing license for the whole community for that specific Fishing Pier, there is a sign posted at the entrance to the Fishing Pier that reads, "Fishing License Not Required"; it's a Public Fishing License that covers anyone and everyone that participates in fishing from only that specific Fishing Pier. Weekends are sometimes crowded, especially on Sundays. This is designated as a saltwater fishing area, with the opportunity to catch Blackfish(Rockfish), Blue Crabs, Croakers, Sea Bass, Porgy, Flounders, Flukes, Dogfish(Small Sharks), and a few other saltwater species of fish. There is a Bait Dispensing Vending Machine, and Tackle Dispensing Vending Machine at the entrance of the Pier. There is also a Public Portable Potty Toilet in the Parking lot. Good place to fish if you know what you're doing
