Banks are high. Not a lot of places to cast from the bank. Lots of rocks and plenty of fish. Nice and clean location overall

One of my favorite spots to go trout fishing. Small decent place but most times I've gone, I was not disappointed. You'll most likely get a fish or two. There is decent parking there. No restrooms. The steps are steep so not recommended for someone with bad knees. There is a pier that you can fish from. No cost for parking or pier use. There is handicapped parking and i usually see older ppl go and most ppl are friendly. Not a good place for kids to go bc the rocks are slippery. Check the schedule to see if they letting the dam run or not. it'll sound a siren when they let the water run and it goes fairly high. There is a boat/kayak access further down the parking that's one level. You can't miss it. Would definitely recommend this place and go fishing here again.

Do you need a trout license to fish there or you only need the fresh water license? Any one knows

You used to have to purchase the trout stamp outside your inland fishing license. NC eliminated that this year, youre allowed to trout fish under your inland fishing license. Salt water is a different story! Youre good as long as your licensed. Happy fishing!!!

I'm not sure. I fish at the spillway often but it seems the water is always running way to fast to fish. The wildlife fish and game department has Website that tells when they are gonna stock the fish
