2022 Update: My father and I came around 9AM to fish the pier, not many people were around just a small cluster of folks talking. We waited by the counter for someone to let us pay for access to the pier. No bell, or way to get anyone's attention we just stood there patiently. After 10 mins goes by we see the woman in the cluster of people chatting who clearly saw us come over to answer the phone. I guess we were invisible because she never acknowledged our presence. Not even a hold on ill be with you shortly. We decided to leave and go to another pier. Sad that one employee can ruin your entire experience. I would not recommend you waste your time here and just go to one of the other piers. __________________________ 2019 Parking here is free if you are fishing and $10.00 if you want beach access. Fishing on the pier is $8 a person or $3 just to visit. Sad to report I only caught a small flounder and fishing was kind of poor overall but that's the name of the game some days are good and some aren't. There is a small arcade and a bar. We had some drink and a nice time.

This is a nice pier for fishing despite its shortness. There are concessions and an arcade that make spending the day there all that much nicer. The only hangup I had was the invasion of personal space when the drum and trout were biting. The minute someone caught a fish, other anglers on the pier would crowd that particular spot and cast their line. I've been to many fishing piers and I have never seen anything like that.

I've been to several piers and this one offers more stuff to do than any other one. They have an arcade, bar and restaurant. Then there's fishing! We spent half the day here and enjoyed every minute. Didn't catch much, but others were catching Spanish Mackerel. It's $12 to park and get in which is a bit steep, but considering the amenities, it's reasonable. Fyi, you don't need to pay to get access to the arcade, bar or restaurant, you only pay to fish on the pier. Sightseeing is $2. The only drawback is that the actual pier is old and not the best looking. I could feel it away with the waves. Not sure if that's normal, but I've never felt other piers sway in the manner this one did. In reality, none of that matters. It's still a good time.

It was a great experience while visiting the Outer Banks. The cost was very reasonable for everything we needed to fish. We caught 9 fish in just a few hours. The staff at the pier are extremely friendly and treat you like you've been a regular for years. The selection of pinball machines is also nice.

Theres a bar..there used ta be a rest. at kitty hawk pier..
Bring your own or rent what you need. Rentals are very reasonably priced. They have bait there as well. Good luck !!!
Not many were biting when I went fishing. I was told to fish at high tide. The whiting and blues were biting then. We went in October but the hurricane messed it up.
Suppose to be open by memorial day
Parking is free but if you wanna park there and go to the beach its $10
Northeast winds will push the fish in. Main thing is to look for bird activity. If the birds are diving in the water, that means the fish are feeding. This colder time of year is producing Striper (Rockfish), and Red Drum.
