Nice campground but trees could be trimmed better around camp pads. Comfort stations were clean and in good shape. Fish cleaning station is a good feature.

Gorgeous lake and park! Would be great for sailing and kayaking. Probably not the best for big boats, as the water is fairly shallow.

We were recommended Lake Thompson by the staff at the Laura Ingalls homestead when their RV sites were full. Great spot. Lots of beach facing campsites, grass, playground, fishing, volleyball. Electric hook ups and pump out station. Would come back!

Personally, lake poinsett is better for family swimming. Much nicer beach
Lake Preston just redid their bathrooms to make them storm shelters that also include showers. However you need to contact city finance officer to make reservations. $10.00 a night fee
