Runyon Canyon Park is one of my favorite places in LA, especially during a clear sunny morning, the views are amazing and the hike/run offers a great exercise. Runyon Canyon Park has several entrances. On the South valley side, there are entrances on Fuller St and Vista St, on the North hilltop side, it's off Mulholland Dr. Between these entrances there are three main trails/roads. The East Trail and the West Trail are dirt trails with great views. They are a bit steep, especially the West Trail; the central Fire Road is paved road and more gradual. All trails are well marked and easy to follow. There is a more technical and steeper trail between West Trail and Wattles Garden Park. Come around sunrise and sunset, the view is spectacular!

Love this place!! Great trails. Beginner or expert you will find what you need to get your outdoor or hiking trail fix. Great views of the city and chill vibes all around.

One of my go-to hiking places in the area whenever a friend or relative from out of town is visiting LA! Short, relatively easy hike that is essentially a big loop. Plus: - Dog/pet friendly - At the entrance, there are snacks, water, energy drinks, and more available for purchase via the honor system - Pretty views of DTLA, Hollywood, LA... - Hike is short, only takes ~1 hour even if you are a slower walker - Cute gate you can place your own personal lock if you like to! (See pictures) Minus - Very difficult to find parking (street parking only) - Depending on the time of day/week, LOTS of people (but that's the beauty of being in LA, right?) - No shade Overall, a fun place to take anyone, a pet, an acquaintance, a friend. I feel like this is a must-do hike in LA. Check it out to see what you think!

Highly trafficked but enjoyable trail, if you want to avoid the crowds take the dirt trails. Bring shoes with ample grip, the trail can and will get pretty dry and loose.

Dawn to dusk but beware after sunset they might close the gates, I got trapped once and had to climb out.
At the bottom of the trail and top of the trail but not the middle , depending on phone provider...
yep I remember
I saw Russle Crow hiking there back in 2014
The stairs/east ridge, but you can also get up there on the paved fire road. Of course "good view" is in the eye of the beholder. Lake Hollywood park or Griffith can get you much closer with a much better view
Only on the fire road. You would have to enter at Mulholland or vista st. If you enter at fuller, you would have to take a non-paved path to get up to the fire road. You could easily do it with a jogging stroller, but only on the fire road.
Yes
I was just there today and signs are posted about distancing and people are honoring it for the most part. Please don't hesitate to go.
Try contacting your local parks and recreation. Otherwise, I would show up and check myself. Worth a shot..
Yes you can you may also want to hike wisdom tree hills just over the Hollywood sign
It really depends on which hike you choose, if you want to do a loop or hike in and out, and how fit you are. The easiest trail is the paved fire road. It's just over a mile to the overlook, so however long it would take you to hike uphill and downhill about 2 miles. I'm usually done with a full loop in under 2 hours.
It depends on what time of day you go and which trail you take. There is zero shade on the spine trail, all the way to mullholland. In the morning, the paved fire road has some shade.
Until 5pm sharp!
Be careful and read the signs
There are some steep parts here and there, but for the most part it is fairly easy. Plus the view up there is worth it!
NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED
Any street or space you can find around, but read all street signs and restrictions by the days and hours. Once you get to Fuller gate you'll figure it out. Never had problem finding parking, but takes longer for weekend.
Every time I have been there the best place to park is right off of or 2 streets up from Hollywood boulevard
Yes
Yes, in any case
Its open 6am-6pm daily
Nope..if ur a man, u can pee behind bushes.lol
Good question........
Avoid weekends. Early weekday mornings or late afternoons are best.
There are several trails. It depends on how far you go. It could be a couple of hours to go all around.
Yes but from what I observed it is limited. People are coming and going regularly so I don't believe it to be a problem.
It's not perfect time to go workout... thanks for the reminder btw
Park is still open and you can walk through
There's nothing a few minutes' search brought up. It's fair to say, it'll remain open for rain unless it's deemed a danger from flashfloods, mudslides, or lightning. If you think it's too dangerous from the weather than best to consider other parks. Good information can be found here: https://myla311.lacity.org/splash/splash.html Or "MyLA311" App or online.
The park closes at sunset. And it is hit and miss when the park rangers close it on time. But usually doesn't get closed too late. So you might have to climb the gate if you don't want to wait for someone to come and open it.
East trail The one that has stairs.
Awesome place 2 hike.
Park closes at 5pm sharp today July 3rd and tomorrow July 4th.
Like an electrical outlet? I've never seen one
Yes he did
Its located in West Hollywood technically. Close to the walk of stars, hard rock, Doby theatre, shopping area.
No, there is no handicap parking!
Vigorous definitely, take the path off of Fuller Avenue off of Hollywood Boulevard and walk all the way up to the top to Mulholland Drive the entire length of the mountain.
There is an honor system snack bar at the entrance on Fuller Ave.
It is a great place to hiking me be 1 mile not sure exactly the distance ✌️
