My family and I absolutely loved tubing with River Rage Tubing! The owner, Jay, was extremely kind and helpful. She was very informative on river conditions and tubing tips. When one of us got scraped by rocks, Jay quickly gave us first aid supplies and helped as much as she could. River Rage provided two different tube shape options and had a wide variety of life vests to choose from. Due to high water levels, some river areas were very quick and dangerous but most were smooth and fun. Compared to River Rat, River Rage is cheaper with faster service and amazing staff. We could not recommend tubing here more!

I'm giving 2 stars because the lady at the front desk was so super nice, sweet, and a funny hippie. She is the ONLY reason it got 2. Just don't do it. River Rat was sold out. We thought this would be a good alternative. 😐 If we only knew what we were in store for. The lady working the counter was extremely nice! This was the one highlight lol from there I asked if I could rent a teather to attach my wife's and my tubes. Her response, "just rip one of them buckles and sash off one of them orange life jackets." We should have turned back, but we didn't. Then as we are riding in their green shuttle bus to take us to the drop off point, the motor just cuts off on the highway. The driver yells, "awh man, I know I've ran her lower on gas and it ain't quit before." You guessed it, we ran out of gas. 🤣 Luckily we were able to coast into a gas station on the side of the road. Once again we should have took this as a sign. ..... We did not. Onward the light brigade! The driver finally gets us to the drop off. We began our journey. The whole point of the trip was to take my father in law to celebrate his birthday. Guess who's cheap tub popped halfway through the trip. Yup. My father in law lol We finally make it back to the shop. We saw a young married couple out front who had just came out of the office. Their tubes popped at the beginning and they had to walk the entirety of the river to get back. They asked for a refund, the sweet lady at the front counter responded by saying, "I can only give you some weed or free passes, no money back" 😂 To say the least. It was the most unique place in Townsend. But if you wanna go tube. Plan ahead and book River Rat. You won't regret that decision 😉

We went on a cloudy day hoping there wouldn't be too many tubers on the river. We walked in, paid, and were loaded up to start floating the river within 10 minutes. They drop off right at the park entrance and have an easy exit point right behind where you check in. Tubes have a mesh bottom so bring a water bottle with you. Also get a waterproof case for your phone to grab photos along the way and goggles to catch a glimpse of trout during the float. Make sure you jump out at the various swimming holes and swim between rapids... there are 3 or 4 swimming holes with the largest right before exit area. Bring a picnic with you as there are outdoor games and plenty of picnic tables and benches at the check in to enjoy a day on the river. You can float as many times as you want same day which made the rate worth it. This is the longest float on the river. The other tubing company had an exit about 2/3 the length of River Rage and before the good swimming holes.

Fun in the river. Nice couple that owns business very helpful. Nice ride on tube. Some rapids fun. Tube can get stuck on rocks. Can be hard to get loose. I appreciate a fellow tuber for getting me unstuck from rocks a few times. This route is longer than other other tube businesses.

When we were there 2 weeks ago we didn't have to wear any while tubing or in the building. I doubt you'd ever have to on the river unless you personally wanted to.
NO. Not allowed on river. Would be very challenging at times to have a floating cooler on the river considering the depth and rocks.
This is one of Many businesses that suffered during the pandemic last year. City of Knoxville & Big Banks don't let up on property taxes, utility bills or loans because CDC demands everyone stay home. No customers, no money.

As long as your dog is under 40 pounds it can ride along with you in the tube. We’ve had everything from a yorkie to a pit bull puppy come enjoy floating with us!
We don’t provide a shuttle for kayaking. It’s very rocky so we don’t suggest it on our area of the river. There are a few public access points that are deep enough for long stretches to be able to kayak them though.
Last shuttle to put people on the water is 5 pm
Took us closes to 2 hours. Its mostly like a lazy river and some parts are fast and fun. Overall relaxing. Good times!
