Can't say enough good things about banfield. 1. They're reasonably priced probably below most other vets. 2. Your pets records are in the banfield system, so if you move or need an appt at another location voila. 3. Great doctors. Recently had to put our dog down. Was not upsold on very pricey treatments. Vet told us our dog was not doing well, but 100% left it up to us. The vet took the time to talk to us. Private cremation was very inexpensive. They gave us a positive professional experience at a very sad time. I have no plans to take my dogs anywhere else. Why would I?

We needed to have our cat checked and put down. Because of severe Kidney disease. She was 20 years old. They told me it was a few hundred dollars to do this. So we went in with my crying 9 year old son to put her down. When we got there, they told me it was going to be 700 dollars now. For what, I dont know. We had to put our only pet down we have ever had of 20 years and they wanted to take advantage of us in our most emotional state. How dare they price switched us while we were there. We left. Horrified. We will never be back at petsmart when we get another pet. Taking advantage of people in sad times. Thank God we got an extra day with our cat and brought her to the only vet hospital we will ever take our next pet too in in Lake Forest. Shame on Banfield for price gouging and switching. Do not trust them. We went here because my mother has been taking her dog here. Only to find out she tells me what they are charging her. For the same exact treatments and the vet hospital in Lake forest, they are 3/4 less expensive than Banfield. Ridiculous to be taking advantage of pet families during this time.

I've lived in this area for 30 plus years and have seen my share of veterinarians in that time, this hospital is one of the best from the staff to the veterinarians. They always greet me with a smile and know my name and my pet's name as soon as they see me, and the treatment of my pet is nothing but excellent everytime...I can't say enough about them!

The vet is very competent, but they are too busy to be able to schedule appointments in any reasonable time frame -- it's weeks, not days -- so if your pet is actually sick, u have to see another vet.

How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Aug 25, 2020

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Aug 25, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).

Are the fees reasonable?

I have been going there with my cats for years. I also had insurance on all three. The only issue I had with the insurance was after I had to have one of my 16 year old put down, I still had to pay monthly for 7 more months after he was gone. I don't know if they have changed that because I cancelled it on my other two cats. Prices are still more reasonable than other places. I would recommend them.
