Let me start by saying the doctor and people who worked on my baby were good, but outside of that I can not recommend this location and it doesn’t live up to my past scripps experience. I went here because my other pediatrician wasn’t available, it was my baby’s first time at this location. Upon walking in one of the receptionist just kept starring at my children, while the other checked us in, unpleasant experience, but not a big deal. Next as soon as we’re called back, the woman leading us to the room said, she has to wear a mask. I told her, “she’s 1 she doesn’t need a mask.” She then proceeds to look and say, “I thought she was 2.” I tell her no and then she ask for my child’s name. I’m sorry, but last time I checked I know my baby’s age despite how tall she is. Then she asked for my baby to stand on the scale, I nudge my little one to the scale. The scale malfunctioned and she needed for her to get off, she repeatedly tell my baby, “you can get off” like talking to an adult, again my baby is 1 and there’s a communication barrier due to age. I was just so turned off by the woman. I will not be coming to this location anymore, we’re use to a more personable and kid friendly environment, where patients and parents are both respected and valued.

I went for blood work. It was my first time at Scripps clinic in San Marcos. Very clean with a convenient parking. Friendly & professional staff. Absolutely, Minimal waiting!!.. I had a great experience.

Good doctors and caring staff, but Scripps doctors are always overbooked with patients, so forget ever seeing your own doctor for minor illnesses or injuries, you are stuck with Scripps express or urgent care. This isnt a problem for everyone, but for people with ongoing medical issues and medications, it's often better to see your own physician for non-emergency care. The location in San Marcos is awful. Parking is in a cramped parking structure and you have to hop out of your car - if you have short arms - to get a ticket because of design flaws. Then there's the whole covid safety issue. The San Marcos waiting room is chaotic, in part because shared with express clinic. The staff ask no covid questions when you sign in. They dont enforce masking. The waiting room doesnt have enough chairs. My last visit, chairs were full, people had to stand, an unmasked, coughing toddler was running around, a person had their mask totally off, another had their mask below their nose, and a coughing guy sat huddled in a chair. I felt extremely uncomfortable. This is the only medical office I've gone to during the pandemic where I feel genuinely unsafe.

This is a great facility. It is close to work and it opens early so I can get in and out. I am from out of state and finding a new doctor was challenging until I found this clinic and Dr. Rivera. Nice new facility, courteous staff.
