Hidden gem. Rangers keep it well kept. Paths are easy to follow.Trees are unique. Water is clean. Frogs and Canadian Geese were a welcoming site. Loved the Mallards. Restroom was clean and yet efficient.

Nice place to do a few laps around. Always peaceful whenever my family and I visit. Dog friendly.

It's so beautiful. My age seeing little ones playing is good for the heart! Granddaughter had a blast!!

I am from out of town and I'm not crazy about Sherman. I'm not crazy about this area at all. But I love Herman Baker Park. The scenery is beautiful, with a lake, a creek, a waterfall with a land bridge, and a variety of different types of trees, including the bois d' arc, distinguishable by it's large, twisted roots. There are public restrooms and several picnic tables, as well as a large green grassy hill/dam that is perfect for rolling down and, I imagine, sledding down when it snows. The trail through the woods is awesome. It leads to a bridge over the creek, which is really pretty. There are many ways to go and explore. Some lead to cliffs overlooking the creek and lake. One leads to a peninsula that would be a perfect place for a picnic or meditating. The woods are shady and lovely, and the tree roots on the trails form steps. The branches form covered, sheltered walkways. There is literally 83 acres to explore here. If you get bored, that's on you. It's a great workout, if you want it to be. Also, it's haunted. Just saying. Why do I have the most intense feeling I'm being watched every time I'm here? Why do I never feel alone here? Because I'm not. And I don't just mean the ghosts. Hi, whoever you are. Around dusk you can hear owls. In the day time, crows. So, so many crows and lately, ravens, much to mt delight. I saw a deer a few weeks ago. Squirrels, rabbits, snakes, herons, ducks, I once saw an eagle. I haven't had a chance to explore as much as I would like but what I have seen is one of the best hiking trails I've been on in north or east Texas.

Yes you can swim, or at least I have seen people swimming. If you follow the trail around the lake there is one spot by a cliff where there is a rope on a tree that you can swing & let go to land in the water but understand that it's at your own risk.
Yes, license required. Fishing without a license is like drunk driving....its not the thousand times you got away with it that matters....its the time you get caught that sucks...
Don't think you can camp there .
Yes, you can. I take my son to drive his 4x4 RC truck when the place isn't too crowded
You can. but be aware that Sherman does have a leash law.
Try 8th street park in fort smith. You can usually find enough people to play 21
Uh. No it's Open 24 hours. However I Don't see anything about camping.
