Ms. Mary's made me feel like I was eating my mom's cooking. I literally closed my eyes as I took a bite and I was 12 again eating dinner at my moms table. Now I know my mom is going to get mad, however Ms. Mary's grilled pork chop was better than moms. Let me emphasize again. That Grilled Pork Chop was spectacular. It was so good and tender. I really enjoyed my visit. Everything I had was good, however I highly recommend the grilled pork chop:)

I love this place! Food great and staff friendly and yes Ms. Mary is always there to with the pretty smile greeting you! I had the smothered pork chops and it was fall off the bone great!!

We ordered the fried chicken and catfish dinners, with sides of cabbage, blackeyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and rice with cornbread. The entrees were excellent. My catfish was crispy with a delightful cornmeal crust and well seasoned. My wife's fried chicken was likewise very tasty, with a solid flour crust. (Ms. Mary's does not commit the cardinal sin of using identical batters for all their items). The sides were fine for the style. I had to add both salt and black pepper to my blackeyed peas and cabbage, as there wasn't much seasoning. My wife had a similar opinion of her sides (respectable but bland). The cornbread was tasty and moist, but perhaps too sweet. Still, 5 stars. Why? Ms. Mary's hit the mark with the entrees. Probably more of a 4.5 star experience, but I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from coming to a place that excels on its specialties.

I’ve seen this spot before and finally went to try it out. I ordered the meatloaf, black eyed peas and cabbage and a cornbread with unsweetened tea. It was in a good location and was clean. So, I received my order about 5 minutes after ordering. The food looked good. I am very critical when I eat food. I love to eat good food. I first tried the meatloaf. My mom always added the tomato paste on top then put it in the oven it went. Here they cook just the meat and offer a tomato sauce on the side or brown gravy. I chose the tomato sauce. The sauce was good. It, needed seasonings. The meatloaf was tasty but, as I had a few bites one after the other it was salty. If you take a bite or two you don’t taste it as much. (It was salty) next, I tried the cabbage it had no seasoning or bacon. Just plain cabbage maybe some butter was added. The black eyed peas were the same. The cornbread was cold and a bit sweet. I prefer sweet cornbread. If it was hot it may have been better. I left half of my meatloaf. The portions were good. I don’t think I’ll return.
