Love this campground as well. However, unlike, Cypress Glen Campground, (which is a hop, skip and a jump from one another), you don't get any cell signal. Keep that in mind when making reservations...

Recently refurbished campground operated by Florida Forest Service. Right on the lake with boat ramp also area for kayaks, canoes. Beautiful hiking trails along the lake and withlacoochee river. Right outside the park are several interconnected paved trails.

Beautiful, clean, campground with nice sites. If your lucky you can be right on the water. Hiking trail access right next to campgrond. Kayak/boat ramp. Bathrooms are the NICEST bathrooms I have EVER seen at a campground (with HOT shower and excellent water pressure). Sadly my only issue was this is right next to interstate 75. We did not know this till arriving. So needless to say you can hear a lot of traffic when outside or in a tent. If you are tent camping try Crooked River. It is in the same grounds but deeper in the woods.

Stellar campground for all. Spots are large and spacious with attention paid when they designed each spot. Not a single spot looks directly onto another, it gives the impression of more privacy and space. Lake is right there with easy to access bait launch. Road to the park of pretty bunny but not too bad. Clean restrooms and showers, and easy dump station.

You would need to either call or go there for their updated pricing for this year.
Is there power hook up for RVs
There is a Win Dixie about 10-15 away, along with a gas station and some fast food options. Use Google maps to locate..
Yes you can, just be careful at the lake, I think there are alligators there. Keep them leashed
I don't think you can because it a pay to enter area.
Hi. At this time I'm just a camper. However if you call the office they may be able to assist you better.
If they give you the gate code you can ( or used to )
Yes
It's $15 a night to tent camp. They have QR codes on the signs when you arrive that you scan and then can pay on your phone.
We just came from there. Open and bathroom/ showers available.
yes
No, you can just pay for the day. Not sure what the fee for day use of park is these days. I'm sure it's on their website.
FREE
Just like most parks. Lots of campers
No jeep trails for riding around on. Few hiking paths. Bbq grills. Camping spaces...
No, it's a state Forest, go north to Ocala National Forest it's desperate camping there
We were at the state park by the boat ramp area! Maybe this year will be better!! Thanks
Walk ins for any park as it states. Walk ins. You will know when you walk in. That is how it works.
They open at 8 so I believe you could check in around that time.
Pretty good if you have a way to get around, alot of blue gill and bass, didn't have much luck with the cats but I no there around, maybe in the deeper holes.
That costs me money as I'm on a money per minute phone. Otherwise I would
No gas anything on trails u need DL to drive on road. Silver lake state forest
Water at campsites, swimming at beach. I would be wary of swimming in the river by campground. Recent rains, bugspray a must.
If you want to go kayaking, the best place is about 30-45 minutes North. The rainbow crystal springs river, there are a few kayak rental spots there. I usually hit it up on the last day of camping.
It's a VERY small campground. Technically there's room for it, but not worth it, too me. It would take you all of about 2 minutes to walk (slowly) from one end of the campground to the other.
Each site has a fire ring, some of them have a grill built into them, but bring some tin foil to cover the grill if you cook because they are rusty, have fun!!!
I think it's about 8:00 pm
I have a 38' fifth wheel and we go there all of the time, you'll be fine, just look at the description on reserve america
There is a house down the road from the park that sells firewood for $10 dollars per bundle. Probably need about 3-4 bundles to keep a good fire going all day long. Exit the campground after the ranger office and make a left (away from the highway) and the house is on the left about a mile down the road, there is a little firewood for sale sign on a tree by the entrance to the house so go slow. It's an honor system, put your money in the box and take your wood, and don't be a jerk. Have fun, such a great campground!! Sometimes there is a community firewood dump somewhere near the recreation area. People dump the firewood there when they leave because you cannot take it with you unless you brought it from home. There is some "donation" involved, but I have never had luck finding it, so I go to the house.. Support the locals!!
