If you are of meek and humble heart, you should consider this as an alternative to the resorts in the area. Very simple accommodations but good, considerate people staffing the office. Great experiences booking on the phone, during our check in, and while asking for accommodations in our check-out process. Very easy walking distance to shops and restaurants was a big plus. At the height of vacation season they were only half booked on late notice (assumingly due to the nature of the rooms which provide a college dorm-type feel). Our party was very happy but we are also admittedly Catholic blue-collar (meaning we like the best deals, fairly given). Folks expecting a 5-star type experience would be dissatisfied but Saint Francis loved both Jesus and Lady Poverty so what should you expect? Simple hospitality, which was given in abundance. It is not a fancy resort but we were very happy we chose to stay.

Very friendly place to stay! Located a short walk to many shops, cafes, and restaurants. The facilities are clean and well kept. I have come several years in a row for a knitting retreat hosted here and the staff has always been so friendly to the large group! The meals provided are DELICIOUS and it feels like being over at grandmas for some home cooking. Walking the grounds you will notice fragrant herbs like wild thyme growing on the lawn which makes each step a little more special. They provide maps and brochures to help you get familiar with the area. I highly recommend this place!

This is a very peaceful, and calm place. You can attend Mass daily, walk through the Shrine, and visit the gift shop. Walking distance from the center of town. Love being here. Very basic but clean rooms, breakfast is good, prices of room and food quite reasonable. It's a real treasure.

My whole family of nearly 30 people stay here for a few days and it is always great. The food is good, but don't count on much gluten free stuff. The rooms are nice, and the daily Mass is wonderful. The lawn is perfect for games, or simply walking around. From here you can walk to the ocean, and there are paths on the back that are wheelchair accessible. This is a great Family vacation spot.
