This museum had a pretty good guide and some realistic exhibits. However, it was so dark, I couldn't read information on the walls and actually had trouble seeing some exhibits. I asked the girl in the store on the way out why it was so dark and she said "for ambience". I'm pretty sure the darkness covers a lot of dust and mildew. If you have an allergy to mold or dust, I'd pass on this museum.

Will was our tour guide and he was awesome. Made it fun, funny and he is very knowledgeable. It was great, thank you!

Shout-out to Captain Will who led me on a tour at the end of the day. His jokes were hilarious and totally on theme. I learned a good amount and loved getting to hear these stories from him!

Like most museums you need to read alot to get the most of it. This is a new pirate exhibit based on a confirmed pirate ship and treasure. We took our time and looked and read most everything. We spent well over an hour. They were not very busy so, so an attendant walked with us and answered questions explained various items of interest. I would assume, this royal treatment may not be available during busy times. Another couple came in after us and went thru fairly quick. So, if seeing pirate artifacts is more to your style than reading you can go thru much faster than we did. A short movie clip at the beginning and you begin your walk thru. Note to the establishment: Well done, but, might I suggest a spot where a button could be pushed on a display and a narrative plays when someone isn't available to walk thru or be posted in areas of primary interest.

Black beard's ship flag on display if you can't you might be able to find out more about him on line or call the museum to get info. Hope this helps.
