I've camped at Starvation for years. It's really nice on a hot day. The water is kind of cold, but feels good. The mosquitoes are an issue, so bring bug repellent. Primitive camping like Juniper Point and Night Hollow used to be nice, and affordable. Now, you can't camp without the park rangers bothering you about your dogs. Saying "your dogs need to be leashed, we've had several children get bit". His attitude was terrible towards us as if our dogs were monsters. First off, it's their problem if they get bit, coming into your camp. Second off, I don't camp to leash my dogs in a primitive site. I refuse. Third off, those areas have never required dogs to be leashed. Only the main beach & Indian Bay--the reason we don't camp in those areas. Unbeknownst to the park ranger, he didn't know my friend was staying at a different area of the lake. He didn't say a word to him about the dogs at their camp. When will the state realize they're losing revenue because of the staff? Unimpressed to say the least.

Great little escape. South shore has great primitive sites with easy access to the water.

Amazing views here in Middle of nowhere. Got down for a breather and stretch out. Fresh air and nice road to walk a little and watch the FREEDOM BRIDGE scenery.❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍😃

We stayed at Indian Bay Campground, almost all of the camp sites are great, but the best ones are the ones near the shore with a spectacular view and quick access to the beach area some are big enough for rv's and others for tents only, no hook ups at this campground, vault restrooms that were pretty clean. Water Level is good.Fishing, paddle boarding and all your other water sports are sure to be fun here. The only issue was the trash bins were overfilled and trash scattered around the camp grounds, maintenance can do a better job at this and so can we, pick up after yourself and keep this place as nice as it naturally is..👍

No not really, unless it's a canoe or small aluminum boat and you park at the far southwest end of freedom bridge in the oilfield side

Yes you can just get in. I would call in advance about the discount.
They don't have yurts. But they do have cabins that fit 6 people. Their is a bathroom just right across the parking lot. I think it was $65 a night.
We never have trouble as long as they aren't running all over, you're cleaning up after them and on a lead or leash I think is required.
Not sure I was just there today lol. Didn't see any horse's around. I did see a lady with a horse trailer. There might be trials around the huge Lake!
