There was no one in the whole department but I filled for unemployment and it was easier than online

So this is not an EDD office per se. It is a workforce office where they can help you find a job and work on your resume. I went to ask a question about my benefits. They connected me through one of their phones to someone at the EDD office. Basically your case can stay open for up to year from the time you apply. You must collect your benefits within that time frame.

They'll hunt you down to take your money but if you ever dare make a request from them, none of their services work, the phones are never answered, forms ordered online don't show up, calls get hung up on. The government of California is trash, top to bottom.

At least update that you're temporarily closed. Couldn't get through on the phones regardless of how early I called so I figured I would get attended in person. Both automated message and here provided me with hours claiming that this location is open but guess what it's not and I walked 40 minutes there hoping to finally get some help. I understand that things are uncertain now but at least share what's happening so we are properly informed, you're a government facility and should have the public's back.

If you called the 800 number it is closed at that time. The office on Central has a different phone number
You cannot do disability at this office. I learned the hard way. Go to the office in Van Nuys.
No. Office closed. You can apply only online @ edd.ca.gov.
No. You just go in and don't need an appointment.
No
You don't need a letter, just go online and stop or discount
In some cases they have that information available.
EDD office (unemployment) shares the building with Verdugo Jobs Center. The VJC can also help you prepare for jobs search as well as EDD. The office is in Central a block away from Los Feliz Blvd. They open at 8.30. Parking in back. Bring your payroll stubs to help yourself fill out the on line forms. Good luck!
If you quit your job, no. If you were laid off (or if the job ended) and then you moved, probably yes.
Mam, parking available at edd, a pleasant evening. god bless your heart and your soul. Alleluia
