Hadn't been here in almost 10 years. They have done a lot of upgrades and have so many volunteers. So thankful the community supports Como Park the conservatory and the zoo. Thank you so much!

Wow this place is incredible! First off, it was free which was a nice surprise. The entire place is very clean. The animals and exhibits are very interesting and also have an interactive section for children. The plant garden was phenomenal. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to go to the amusement rides.

Como zoo and Como regional Park are places that bring back lots of memories for me as a kid going there as an adult. Most of the buildings in the zoo have not changed in 20 plus years. The only thing that's really changed is probably the animals, people and the rides at the kids. Midway. But not Sparky the seal, he has always been there since day one and always will be alive! Lol. I strongly would suggest going back if you're a local and you went as you were a kid. It brings back lots of memories and is very nostalgic , as well as creating new ones for your own little ones. It is pretty cool how they revamped the Sparky the seals stage amphitheater is probably the newest addition that I noticed. As well as creating an experience for you to walk underneath and see the seals in their underwater habitat, just like the polar bears.

Great place to bring the kids. We packed our own lunch so we didn't need to pay the high prices of food. The animals seemed happy and well fed. The bathrooms however were very in nasty and inside all the buildings was extremely hot. No AC on a 90degree day. I left feeling like I had heat stroke.

This is not a question.
On leash dogs appear to be permitted, there are no postings to the contrary. The park is filled with dogs, the zoo area is of course not.
No there are first come first serve picnic tables. If however, you want one of the covered pavilions it's first reserved, the smaller ones are fairly cheap. The are reserved via the Saint Paul Parks department. Reserved spots MUST be reserved more than one week in advance.
Both ways can walk comfortably.
Thank You!!!! I do have One more question. This is about availability of space, to move about indoors, with Our Mobility Scooters. ( ESPECIALLY), in the flowering(Living Plants), areas.
Not a swimming area, but there is a splash pad / play area for the children.
Hello. It's a zoo and there aren't bounce houses there.
The covered pavilions need to be rented and reserved a minimum of one week in advance. There are 3 major pavilions, 2 are locked one is open. The openings and phone number can be found at the Saint Paul Parks website: https://www.stpaul.gov/departments/parks-recreation/permits-rentals/pavilion-picnic-shelter-locations The lakeside pavilion is separate from the park picnic areas for reservations. You should contact the Dock & Paddle Como Lakeside
