Interesting and pretty park on the side of the Mississippi River. Sometimes it’s very busy. Typically it’s busier in the Minneapolis side than this side. The trees are beautiful sticking out from the ground.

A good place for skipping rocks, and a great place for skipping-rocks! Some of the ones I found even had interesting fossilized material. I didn’t get in the river myself, but it was very peaceful and cool, and lots of people enjoyed swimming in it while I was there. There are plenty of shaded forest trails good for a short hike, and the wide, asphalt path is good for running, as long as you don’t mind the sun. I encountered a wide variety of wildlife while hiking, including woodpeckers, chipmunks, gray squirrels, red-breasted robins, and even a handsome garter snake! As you walk, make sure not to squish the many interesting bugs going about their business on the forest floor. Despite the general abundance of critters, I encountered very few mosquitoes and flies, although I can only speak for my one visit in early July. Overall, an impressively natural park for being only 15 minutes by car from the airport! I did find a large, serrated kitchen knife in the shallows, but that seemed like a fluke.

It was kind of a waste of my time going there. No signage and lots of mosquitoes. We went in the middle of June but going another time of year would be better. We did enjoy our walk along the river and there was pleanty of free parking.

Easy walk to the falls from either up from the park parking lot or down from River Road. The path is wide and easy to follow.
I go until i cant walk down the trail. It is gorgeous there in the winter as well.
Yes
Walk beside the road that took you down to the park. You'll find the path right past the bathroom buildings.
It should be unless there is some flooding.
There are at least 2 parking spots but the problem is today would be pretty steep its downhill all the way
The last time I was there, I saw a wedding party.
There are two designated fire pits for open fires. That said, fires on the beach are common.
Yes I see gathering all the time. No I don't think you need a permit, but you can call parks and recreation to verify.
Yes. There are tables in the shelter and in the green space.
I don't think wifi is available, and cell service is not the best when close to the river.
No map is given to you, but I remember seeing a map or two along the trail.
Its a rough path. Loose gravel path.
I think that maybe by the of the week if the weather is good
Yes. ... Water is still too high
Once the high river flooding seizes
I seriously doubt it. The flooding signs are still up and it's locked up at the entrances
No food service. They have grills to use.
Yes but it is at your own risk. Year to year the current varies so be careful. Usually there is a significantly stronger current.
Sometimes people will wade. But current strong so there are better choices for swimming. Also water high so what shore there is usually is underwater.
Yes
Once there follow the signs plenty of parking
Yes, lots of people do that here. It's a public city park.
