They won't see you if you don't have an appointment, but you can't get an appointment because they never pick up the phone and their automatic HOLD system basically hangs up after a half hour. Impossible to get help. Really frustrating.

Tried calling to make an appointment for a month, no luck, either got hung up on or sent in an automated message loop that lead to nowhere. So I show up. Can’t get in the office… ran into an employee in the elevator and explained my situation. His response-which I am sure is a script- was “we only have 25 employees and we can’t answer every call” yet, he still urged me to call the number to make an appointment… when I repeated what he said about 25 employees he then said “our phones system was down today.” I’ve heard that one before… then he shifted to “we only take 20 appointments a day and we are scheduled appointments for several weeks ahead.” Then when I tried to plea and ask if I can just get an appointment he said “we’re supposed to be reopening in April.” At that point I just became frustrated and realized that showing up in person was no different from getting hung up on or sent in a loop for the past month. DPSS in Glendale GET IT TOGETHER OVER THERE! This is shameful.

I need appointments for Glendale office social security
On the day I went in I was told by the secretary officer on site that I could walk but there is a limited amount of people admitted at one time. So standing outside is a possibility. For that reason I came the following day 30 minutes before the office opened. The wait after opening wasn't long. I was also told depending on the circumstances you may need to call for a appointment. I don't remember the examples given. The phone number can be obtained by searching the Glendale office on Google maps.

It's a matter of getting on the line 2 min before their operation hours. Also, make sure you are calling there office and not the general number.
