I went to service last week and I was looking forward to being fed from the Word of God. Instead, what I received was very scripted, uninspired "talking" from the Lead Pastor. I am very disappointed as I had heard such wonderful things about this church. I want to be inspired and encouraged from hearing the Word preached. What I got was a verse by verse explanation/interpretation of what the Word says. I can do this myself at home during the week. When I go to a church service I want to be challenged and inspired by the preacher applying the Word to our lives with some kind of energy and enthusiasm. Honestly, I had trouble at times following along due to the , quite honestly, boring delivery and lack of anything interesting actually said. I felt that the Pastor repeated himself quite often. If the sermon was kept to 30 minutes I would have gotten much much more out of it, but due to the constant repetitiveness I was lulled to sleep. I'm not saying the Word isn't being preached, but it's just the bland, scripted, repetitive delivery has me wondering why so many people attend. The attendance speaks volumes about the quality of preaching in the area.

God is definitely working in this place. I came here without any expectations, and I end up being surrounded by a body of believers who love the Lord and His word. Haven't heard false teaching, tickling of the ears, just the sound saving Gospel of Jesus. The choir and the entire congregation sings so powerfully together. The songs and everyone singing makes me wanna sing! They even offer home fellowship groups/Bible Studies which is a great way to get plugged in to this community of believers that feed you the Word, get you discipled, and even get accountability partners. Definitely a gold mine of sound doctrine, a welcoming community, and a great place to have fellowship that'll help your own walk with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I even got cousins and extended family that go to CBC which is pretty crazy too! Quite a coincidence that God allowed me to even come to blood-family entering this building.
