this was my home station. love the architecture here. the grounds are nice to hang out at if you have a few to wait before your train. lots of good bites to eat super close by.

The staff were really helpful both at the station and on board the train! The train was really comfortable and more or less on time. They have plugs for charging electronics, tables for eating, a washroom, and a place where you can buy food and beverages. I had a really pleasant trip.

Got stuffed on a bus and taken to Stockton California didn't even get to ride a train I specifically told the lady that I wanted to take my daughter on a train on our trip and I didn't read the fine print she told me there was a train involved I was on a bus for an hour and 20 minutes never touched a train got ripped off for the experience but I did arrive at my location safe next time I will just take Greyhound if I want to ride a bus it would be cheaper because they're not using a train system to up the bus prices

Convenient to bus transfer. Plenty of ethnic restaurants coffeehouses and pubs and gift shops just 100 feet away. Indoor and outdoor waiting area. Bicycle parking and bike-friendly train service. Vintage architecture and interior. Modern sculptures. Old switch tower. Plenty of parking and curb pick-up areas.

Questions & Answers

What are the actual open hours of the ticket sales office at the Davis station. Several websites indicated 5 Am to 5 PM, however the office was closed by the time my train rolled in at about 4:45 PM, on Tuesday.

I'm going on a 14 hour direct train, and am bring around 2 duffle bags, 1 backpack, and 1 17" by 17" bag. Do I need to ask the station guide where I put my bags or the train assistant?

My trains have been shorter routes, but the cars all have open overhead space for bags. You should be fine unless it's crowded.

I am planning on parking over the weekend at Davis Amtrak station. How do I arrange that?

If you are riding Amtrak, go to the Amtrak station to get a free parking permit for your days of travel. Make sure to go early in case parking is full and you have to park at alternate site in town. Good luck, make sure you bring your mask for boarding.

You should buy 2 tickets and post them side by side thats what i did when leaving my truck overnight in a garage downtown near amtrack.
