I watched this last Saturday as two new shooters were verbally abused by ERIC (almost certain I have that name right), the young Range Safety Officer on the Pistol range. Eric responded to both “broken rules” with yelling, belittling, and publicly shaming well after both people had stopped as he asked. He yelled things like “Tell me what you did wrong!!”, “It’s not that hard to understand”, “Can’t you read the rules?”. He went so far as to put his hands on the second shooter and pull them to where they could read the “Rule Sign”. Neither situation was a serious safety violation at any other range. I will add that both shooters seemed very apologetic and tried their best to comply with his stupid way of explaining. Eric acted like a stuttering little schoolboy as soon as I confronted him about how obnoxious he was to the shooters. Standard behavior for a blowhard on a power trip. The complete lack of proper staff training and people skills at this facility is very clear. YSA used to be a wonderful place staffed by kind AND responsible people. Too bad that it’s been allowed to degenerate to this.

$9 for non members is a great price and that's for all day if you have that much ammo. I have seen people complain about the range Marshalls in some reviews. I've had no such experience. But when people do not follow safety rules and act stupid. Well then they need to in force the rules for the safety of ALL customers. And I appreciate that. I've been going for a year or so now and enjoy every visit. In fact I was there today and got my scope zeroed just as the rain started. Nice day. Nice range.
