This is one of the most well known and popular restaurants in Clifton, NJ area, unique for it’s farm house style establishment and esthetic interior. We gave it try on a Sunday evening, and were lucky to a table w/o reservation, it was packed in there. They have a decent menu with good variety of items. We liked the deviled eggs, Mac & cheese from starters. But in entrees, it was disappointing. Pasta was okay, but Po’boy was needs some improvement. The bread was too big and thick, toasted w/o any flavor like butter or such. The shrimp was fried too, which kinda made the combo worse. Despite the food, I throughly enjoyed their interior. The people at the front and serving, all were kind and friendly to us.

A huge thank you to Melissa Ortez and the entire staff at The Barrow House for hosting our wedding reception cocktail-hour followed by a three course plated dinner in the Barn. They completely blew us away with their attention to detail, level of expertise, professionalism, service and day-of dining experience. Not only was the food delicious, it was stunningly presented and our guests raved!.. especially over unique offerings like their grilled-cheese shooters and NY Strip steak! The drink options were diverse and top shelf, ranging from a robust selection of local craft beers on tap to the Barrow’s handcrafted specialty cocktails. The Barrows’s bar specialist, Jess, helped us select two wine pairings to compliment our menu options. The staff was upbeat, polite and attentive in a way that felt like family! Throughout the many months leading up to the event, Melissa was calm, prepared and warm in her communication. She made vendor recommendations, floor-plan suggestions and tasting appointments. Melissa and the staff accommodated us a day ahead to drop off boxes of decor and supplies, including an 8ft backdrop for our florist. We can’t wait to visit again and again, bringing friends and family back with us to enjoy the drinks, food and rustic atmosphere. We highly recommended The Barrow House for your micro-wedding or any event! Fabulous experience! From the moment we were seated, the warm quaint feeling and experience of this establishment has us in anticipation of our next future visit! The atmosphere is an awesome warm feeling of being at a lodge in the colonial times. Our waiter Brandon was excellent and a Craftsman at his trade. The food was top-notch including the entrees and desserts! We will definitely be back and it is worthy of all five stars!

They also currently have an outside area called the Lodge. It's basically a large party tent but they gave propane heaters and blankets washed for each customer. It was a little chilly but fun and socially distant. Temp checks at the door
