Our experience at Deerbrook was a good one. The apartment complex is charming , clean and well managed. The landscape includes a lot of beautiful established trees and shrubs. The apartment was spacious and because it was on the back of the lot it was private and quiet. Property manager Nick was esp great. Very friendly, helpful and intelligent. During the pandemic it was really hard to meet the neighbors. Would be great to have a community garden there. Wish there was more for families with young children, like a playground. It’s about 10 minutes from Smith Creek lake park which has fabulous walking trails and playground. It’s fifteen minutes from Wrightsville Beach. Would happily recommend this apartment complex.

The new office people are nice and kind (if you read about Heather, she's gone, and Nick is really awesome), and the new maintenance guy is very good at his job. But the owner corporation, Hawthorne, sucks. They are not tenant friendly, but the office people do their best to work with what they're given to look out for you. The community is very quiet, in my experience. I've never had any problems with noise or bad neighbors. The buildings are old but not trashy. They're...kept. Not well, but better than most in this price range. The 2 bedroom I live in is so big and great for roommating, as the rooms are on opposite sides. It's very spacious. Overall, it's pretty good. No real horror stories compared to most apartment complexes. And honestly, for this price range, that's just enough to be praise worthy.

I love living here . It’s tucked away and quiet but so close to downtown, and I40 . I can be anywhere in minutes. The apartments are spacious and clean. The staff and maintenance are always friendly. The pool is great and as a bonus I get to kayak whenever I want . There is a push off site right near the apartments.
