Santa Paula Airport is simply a gem! Friendly people and great vintage airplanes. There is an open house on the first Sunday of each month. Worth a visit! Update: Great turnout for the open house 5/1/2022. What a terrific little airport! Saw a De Havilland Gypsy Moth today!

Beautiful place to spend a Sunday afternoon.. 1st Sunday of the Month, the aviation museum is open and filled with plenty of fresh air, walking space, planes, and classic cars! Had a great time watching and flying the planes! The restaurant on site had an amazing breakfast with options for everyone..Will try the sparkling mimosas next time! Look forward to coming back, to try out their lunch option and to sit back and enjoy the beautiful mountain views.

Nice friendly small-town airport. Good cafe on the field and plenty of spots to watch planes and rate everyone's landings.

This almost-90-year-old airport is a unique and wonderful place to visit. It hosts an Open House on the first Sunday of every month, where you can see airplanes that are even older than the airport...and still fly. There are also many modern sirplanes, antique vehicles, and other attractions that you won't find at a publicly owned airport. The centerpiece of the Open Houses is the Aviation Museum, which offers glimpses of the Airport's past, from visits by Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart to its influence on the Star Trek series. Santa Paula Airport offers a full range of services for the aircraft owner and pilot. It starts with self-service fuel that is typically the cheapest for over 100 miles. CP Aviation is an excellent flight school, attracting students and pilots from all over the country who want to learn to fly or advance their knowledge or ratings. Olmsted Aviation offers training for those who would like to compete in aerobatic competition. A Flying Club is currently (mid 2018) forming as well. The airport offers a full range of maintenance services from avionics to fabric recovering, including a shop famed for rebuilding antique aircraft engines. There is also the Flight 126 Cafe and Hangar Bar, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner with a view of the busy runway. Despite it's private ownership, Santa Paula Airport is a tremendous, invaluable asset to the community. During the December 2017 fires that swept across the county, the airport owners immediately ceased their own operations and turned it over to CalFire. For almost a month, Santa Paula Airport became the base for dozens of firefighting helicopters to battle the record fire.

The cops have no authority over aircraft in the air. You can call the FAA FSDO office in Van Nuys, and they will tell you that the pilot (and many others) are expected to do aerobatics there because that's where the FAA placed the aerobatic "box." Pilots who want to do aerobatics are supposed to do them in the box. Call all you want, but it's not going to change anything. The aerobatic box extends the width of the valley from the east end of Santa Paula to east of Filmore and from 1500 feet to 5000 feet. It has been there for decades. It is used by pilots from not only Santa Paula, but also Camarillo, Van Nuys, Whiteman and other airports. Some of your neighbors in the same development actually enjoy these impromptu air shows, normally conducted by pilots training for actual airshows around the country and the world.
You would have to check with an aviatoon center..CP aviation does flying lesson .I'm sure judy Phelps could help you ..good luck:)
Yes, but only from a distance set by the owner (most of the time). The 1st Sunday of every month is the best time to check it out.
No airlines at this airport.
