Peaceful historic ranch located just a tad west of San Marcos, south of Vista. Visited here for my first time attending friend’s wedding so the review is heavily tilted towards the set up of the wedding. Set up of the outdoor ceremony was wonderful and well organized and all of the staffs were very kind. The place had a lot of sign boards explaining the history of the ranch, animals & plants on the property etc. It’s a surprising find tucked away in Carlsbad residential area.

What a beautiful place to visit. They have informational signs throughout but offer led tours on Fridays and the weekends. They also have a beautiful spot for weddings. I look forward to visiting again.

Wow! So much history. The architecture and landscaping is exquisite 👌. They even have orange, lemon, and lime trees. The aroma fills the air! Peacocks are walking around free. This place was everything!!! I got to see where actor extrodonaire Clarke Gable laid his head. Just wonderful!

First time coming here today. My 4 year old daughter and I spent 3 hours here enjoying the peaceful surroundings and nostalgia. The peacocks were beautiful and were very calm and used to people being around. I will be back to visit again soon. Great place to meditate or clear your mind.

The trail at the Leo Carillo Ranch is 1.8 miles, and you can walk your dog there on a leash, if you have a dog. Walking around the Rancho itself can be a good bit of exercise too.
Yes, the parking lot is big. There is also plenty of street parking.
We had a professional photographer and we where allowed to take photos. The day before wedding we took personal photos
No
Yes, visited yesterday seen two
There is also a restroom by the main hacienda house.
Yes. But there is a gravel area leading from the parking lot. Also, there are some inclines and declines to navigate.
Entrance is Free at the Ranch for everyone always year-round. If you'd like to Reserve the small Carillo house for an event its best to Contact the Visitors Office located right below the entrace. They Often have Company events, reunions, weddings etc there.
I went in July and the park and parking were free. It's a lovely place and great volunteers to give lots of background. We saw lots of peacocks while we were there.
They have tours there..maybe if you call, one of the tour guides would be able to tell you that
