The VSO is somewhat antiquated at this point due to the VA claims process being online. However, they are still very helpful with pre filling out your documents correctly. You will still need the PDF documents with your VA claim online. I would suggest to go through the process with the VSO complete all the necessary documents with them and have them saved digitally. Then go on the VA claims website and submit everything yourself, after filling out the PDFs you will be familiar with the forms that you need. When you go through the process copy and paste what you need from the PDFs. Then upload all of the documents at the end of the claims process online with all your medical records. I recommend to not wait on the VSO to submit your claim it will go through much fast if you do it.

I am a OIF/OEF veteran and I am extremely passionate about veterans related issues. So when a vacancy became available for a VSO here I jumped at the opportunity. However, despite my education and my employment background with the Veterans affairs also, just my overall knowledge on the navigation of these issues I was never even given a opportunity for a interview. This is so sad as I can only assume that the decision to not give me an opportunity to serve this community will have a direct impact on veterans who seek services from here.

They could stand to provide a more helpful answering message. They don't even identify their organization.

Not Veteran friendly at all. Don't seem to want to do anything at all! Claim to be VA VSO but said they can't see VA information while everyone else in other VSO offices can.

Yes, there will be information available at each VS location.
Do I need to make an appointment? What information should my representative bring to apply for the DD214?
Sam, you need to walk in. It is hard for them to answer the phone at times. They will call you back when they can but they service veterans that walk in first.
There are no appointments, only walk ins. If you are looking for va health benefits, you will need to visit either the va annex on Fletcher ave or the veterans memorial park on Tuesday or Thursday to see veterans enrollment specialist. All other va matters you may see a veterans service officer to get aid and assistance for home care or nursing assistance. They also help with claims. Hope this helps.
do you take car donations?
Yes, at the front desk are man pamphlets and information on local employment and training programs.
