The cardiac rehab program is wonderful. The nurses keep a close eye on the patients. They are very encouraging at every step. I was only able to do 2 sessions a week but I still improved my numbers. I always felt like they had my health as their first concern.

My husband was at ShorePoint for X-rays . The ER reception area was not busy but there was no “ greeter “ to direct any one arriving - after a short wait in line for reception we were informed that we needed to go to the “ Outpatient Registration “ . The walk to that department was a “ hike “ . After about a mile a uniformed person coming in our direction asked if we would like a wheelchair . She fetched one and we continued on our hike admiring the cleanliness of the floors . Reaching our destination we waited in the outpatient registration for a fair amount of time and although the waiting area contained only us two we eventually were registered . Back into the wait room again and then after some time “ Sam “ arrived to wheel us all the way back to our starting point ! I was given a chair to sit in the corridor outside the radiology room all while continuing to admire those beautifully clean floors . X-rays completed and the technicians extremely obliging , Sam offered to wheel us out to our car . Thank you Sam . May I ask what the rationale is for patients to have to walk so far to OP registration ? If patients are there for radiology and radiology appears to be a mere few feet from the ER registration could it not be more feasible to register radiology patients right there ? More smiles would help greatly , they cost nothing and can be very uplifting in hospital settings . Hire more people like Sam , our interactions with him gave us hope , he smiled , was compassionate and was kind . Maybe recruit volunteers in the ER to help direct patients and visitors and offer wheelchairs to those who need assistance?

On January 18th I went to ShorePoint Hospital in Punta Gorda Florida for a scheduled outpatient procedure with Dr Tufts. When I arrived the hospital staff were right there to show me the way. They repeatedly verified my basic information throughout each stage of the process, and leading up to the procedure/surgery. Every single one of them was friendly, professional, courteous and knowledgeable from start to finish. That made me feel at ease and comfortable. This was reassuring to me and gave me a sense that I was in good hands. This was not my first rodeo and I have had surgeries in the past at other hospitals. I can’t begin to tell you how important it is for hospital staff, and doctors, to treat the patient like an actual person, and not just a number or statistic. The rooms and hallways looked very clean and the staff were awesome. For these reasons I would highly recommend ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda. I would also like to thank Dr Tufts for being there for me when I woke up after the procedure to answer my questions. Not all doctors do that, and when you’re the one on the hospital bed staring at the ceiling, wondering how things went and what the doctor found, let me tell you, it’s important. And I would like to thank the staff at ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda for their professionalism and care. I wish I could remember all their names, because they all deserve to be recognized. Great job folks, Thank You!!

My husband recently experienced a medical emergency during the night necessitating a visit to ShorePoint Medical emergency room. It was determined that he required surgery. Staff at ShorePoint Medical were very attentive and compassionate. They provided excellent treatment and helped arrange for the upcoming surgery. Everyone from the nurses and doctors to the housekeeping and dietary staff were top notch. They provided the best outcome and recovery I could have ever hoped for my husband. As a retired hospital pharmacist I have knowledge of how a good health care system should function and would like to gladly say that they 100% met my high standards. I would highly recommend this facility.

Hi Julie. In 2013, Charlotte Regional Medical Center, along with 6 other hospitals stretching 150 miles along I-75, became a newly created regional network known as Bayfront Health.
Hi Madie. Punta Gorda did at one point deliver. You can read through a history overview here: https://www.bayfrontcharlotte.com/punta-gorda-history
If your pain persists, this may be something to explore with your doctor. If you do not have a doctor, you can find one by visiting: https://www.bayfrontcharlotte.com/find-a-doctor
Hi Mary. Should you decide to leave against the advice of your doctor, we would encourage you have a friend or family member stay with you in case of an emergency.
Hi Paul! We do have options and there are some public options as well. However, I believe you spoke with a member of our team already. If you have any additional questions, give us a call!
