All of our senior apartments are run as co-ops, where the building is self-managed by its members. They would have a say in what goes on in their building. They vote for their co-op's officers: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer. On lease signing day, they can decide if they want to be a member or not. To be a member, they would pay a $100 membership fee that would act as their security deposit and that would entitle them to vote on things that come up at the monthly general meetings and also vote annually for the national board of directors for CSI Support & Development. If they do not wish to become a member, then they pay a security deposit equal to one month's rent.

The rent is 30% of the gross monthly income.
