Came here to check out the wonderful bookshop. I had a fabulous experience with the owners mother who showed me the fabulous selection of kids books. I can’t wait to come again when I visit philly again next

There are moments in life when you suddenly realize you've happened upon greatness. For me, I knew it with my very first step inside the door. A room beautifully crafted with creative moxie, brilliant curation, and obvious intention. Anyone would be lucky to have the opportunity to visit this magical gem and support something larger than themselves. Not only did Harriet's Bookshop have many of the books I was looking for, they ordered the ones they sold out of for me to be picked up later. Treat yourself to a visit! I can't wait to go back.

The best bookstore in the city! It's beautifully decorated. The woman working there was so helpful and kind and she wrapped the book purchase up beautifully!

Absolutely amazing experience. Best bookstore I've ever been to and meeting Harriet was a dream.

@Linda Pearson, my first time at Harriett's Bookshop was on Friday, August 7, 2020, but I had visited their Website before I took my Philadelphia Vacation. I do not recall anything on the store's Website or when speaking with Masiah that very Friday regarding Harriet's Bookshop currently accepting donations. I just visited their Website, and the first/Home page states they are still accepting donations via Venmo. Since Venmo is used for sending cash payments and I see nothing about book donations, at this time.

Hello! I was excited to find your bookstore, one that centers on women and is relevant to current events. Hooray for you! Will be ordering for my book club soon. Stay well and safe!! Chris

Of course! Please do. Remember our collection is designed to celebrate women authors, women artists, and women activists.

Is this a strictly black authors/writers only book shop. Because if so how diverse is that? If white people did that it would be considered racist....

Hi Paul: You should stop by. The store celebrates women authors, artists, and activists, but all are welcome to come learn, share, grow, write, and read.

I plan to order. I saw your interview yesterday on Stephanie Ruhle's streaming program. What does JAWN stand for. I shared this information with my great grand daughter in law for my great grandson. We will be making Harriet's our go to.

Hey there! Jawn is Philly slang. It stands for any person, place or thing.
