3 nights here and yes busy on weekends and quiet during week. Campground manager Pam was welcoming and helpful. We did have to move our site, just our luck a private property that abuts the campground ( and the site we were at) was having yard work done with heavy equipment on Monday. There are only two restroom buildings and one shower in each, so that feels a little less than adequate on a full weekend. The beach is not really swimable due to rocks and very slippery conditions (due to phosphorus runoff??) which was a disappointment to us as the weather was very hot, and dogs are not allowed on the beaches, so they were super hot. I love to stay at state campgrounds due to the quiet atmosphere and this one was very quiet and peaceful. A little road noise a night but not bad.

This is a nice state park, although I do wish Vermont would put power into some sites. My dogs would enjoy the AC on hot days. The campsite is a nice size and I’m not far from the beach, but don’t think sandy. As another reviewer stated, the *best* beach for skipping stones as the beach is filled with flat stones. The lean to’s seem pretty nice and placed through out the park. I peeked into the shower house rooms and they looked nice, $1 for a 10 minute shower is great. If only I had brought quarters! Each shower is its own room with a lock. Plenty of handicap access showers. I’m including photos of my campsite.

We had a nice time! A beautiful park...would have given 5 stars if it had better kayak access

Best place to skip stones in Vermont. The beech is not sandy, but is made up of flat skipping stones. The bathrooms are clean with new flush toilets. Hot showers cost 50 cents for five minutes. Sites vary, like at every campground. Beautiful views of the Adirondacks. Great sunsets. Small playground. You have to travel to hike or to launch a bike.

They open Memorial Day weekend, a day use pass is $3 or $4 per person.
