Wonderful park!! Just a beautiful location, with easy day hiking and picnic areas.

Easy hiking around the amazing lake

The trail was almost 3.5 miles. A few good views of the lake with a pretty easy walking path. Some roots, rocks, small creeks and mud but overall very family friendly. 4 stars because nothing was wrong with the trail but the lake is obviously more for getting on the water.

If you are looking for a place to get away from traffic and get in touch with nature look no further. I went on a hot Saturday afternoon and the parking was pretty tight, but there was plenty of room on the lake. No motorized boats are allowed so it is peaceful on the water. There is a big system in one area with neat Pitcher Plants that can be seen as well as other big life. There were a pair of loons that seemed pretty well adapted to paddlers. They popped up close to my kayak and obliged a couple of pictures before diving again. All in all it was a very peaceful paddle experience. I will definitely come again.

No. But you can rent a kayak in Bondville which is about 5-8 miles away. Lowell Lake only allows kayaks or small electric trolling motors..no gasoline operated motors.
