Scored an invite from a friend of a friend to a private rental of Magic. How sick is it that you can rent the whole mountain out!! I’ve heard about Magic for years, they have some legendary terrain and trees all accessed from a old red double chair. Old school VT vibes for sure. Alas we caught the end of the season and they had just had some temps in the 60’s and rain. But hey we got some fun spring turns in the pouring rain. Can’t wait to head back next year!!

Great day of skiing. Cool retro feel. Laid back vibe. Tavern with good selection of beers on tap. Only issue was that the main chair was not active until 1pm due to maintenance and that was not made clear when ticket was purchased online.

Magic is one of the few places left in the east that you never have to worry about getting lost at, all trails lead to the base. The red and green chairs aren’t high speed but one can go to other places for that; Conversations with other skiers on the 10+ minute ride to the summit are a great opportunity to meet someone new and discuss anything you can think of! The staff from the ticket office and rental shop to the lift operators are always friendly and ready to help. The Black Line Tavern has solid pub food and a varied and reasonably priced local beer selection and great live music at night! The terrain at Magic is unique in southern Vermont and isn’t always suitable for inexperienced skiers due to its steeper nature - but! There is a great learning area to teach friends or get a refresher. Just about half of the mountain has snowmaking which gets reliable bases on the most traveled trails. Magic is skied at its best after fresh natural snow and those days may be in your top 10 ski days ever! If you love skiing, short lines and chill vibes, Magic should be on your ski bucket list!

Overall, we had a great time. The staff was super friendly, and the snow was great. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the Quad was non-operational. No idea why but they could have used it. In addition, a couple of the Blue Trails had some really good-sized bumps (moguls). Not much of a problem for myself and no problem for my 10 yo but a major problem for my wife and 6 yo. They weren't posted as non-groomed so once on them, it was survive or climb back up hill. Overall, a great day and we'll be back.

^ What they said ^ As it's Holiday Prices this weekend ☹
An “any day” ski ticket is available now online for its lowest price before season at $65 https://magicmtn.ltibooking.com/purchase-path/product-details/10904
July 6th. Acoustic music at 5, Live Band starts at 7:30-1130, Fireworks at 9:15! Food and bevies too
The bar is open even when the mountain isn't, it's for adults 21 and over and goes pretty late some nights
Weekends 11-6.... Skiing at Magic is over for the season. I'd doubt that the tubing is open
No idea but due to the it's small size compared to Stratton and okemo andmillington, it's got to be the cheapest. The locals love it and the general vibe at Magic is awesome. My kids took their first and only ski lessons there. Great experience.
