Although it's the dry season, the air smells great, the creek beds are still beautiful and the trees still give great shade. Pool is great. Basketball courts are well maintained for a friendly game.

Beautiful trails ranging from beginner, to advanced (scrambling), and plenty of rock climbing options when the season allows. It's currently Peregrine Falcon breeding season, so all trails to the rocks are closed until late June/early July. Don't let that stop you though. The current trails are beautiful and dip into the interwoven creek for some fun navigation. Overall, a lovely spot to recharge the heart & mind.

Easily missed even by locals, this park is a hidden Gem of the east bay. I live 10 minutes away and barely knew this section of park existedThe parks service has adequate parking for plenty of cars, the trail is well maintained, and the views are great! Limited seasonal access to some of the trails due to nesting birds, so heed the information posted at the trail head. Castle Rock area of the park restricted Feb 1 - July 31.

The trails are awesome. I look forward to the season when you can go off the beaten path and go explore the large rocks. Currently it is closed sometime in February until the end of July. Once it opens up come August I'm going to be all over this place.
